Ironic...
I find it ironic that it is harder to keep in contact with my friends when they are in Singapore as compared to when they are overseas... What went wrong?

I guess it is natural. When someone is overseas, he/she like to communicate more with us, there are also more interesting issues to share when it comes to experiences.
For example, my sister is having a vacation in Canada now, she often emailed me of here whereabouts, together with her hubby. Although she also keep close touch with us when in town, it is more evident when she is overseas.
There was a period of time when we even communicate via webcam once a week when both of them were working overseas for a quite a long period of time, because my parents were actually quite worried about them.
The other thing, which is quite, true sadly, is that sometimes, we take people for granted....I mean since friends are so near us, we tend to ignore them because we always think they will be available and here for us when we call them up over coffee for a chat or something like that, not knowing it may not be available. Singaporeans are busy people, keeping in touch with old friends are not very common among guys, especially once you are married.
Just my opinion.
It is possible that we take others too much for granted. For me, I always can't seem to be able to make time to catch up with some of my old friends because of the hectic schedule that I have. I only hope that I will do better after I graduated... :)
