Trip to Kluang, Malaysia

I made a trip up north to Kluang, Malaysia over the weekend to attend the wedding dinner of my of my closest girlfriend, C. It was a very tiring trip for both YQ and I as we didn't manage to get much sleep throughout the few days in Kluang. We were busy helping the bride out to make sure everything will turn out well for the wedding. We didn't even have time to see Kluang properly. The only place that we had seen were the C's house, her husband, KS's house, the restaurant, our hotel for the last night and a eatery where we had our breakfast on the last day of the trip. :P

The wedding turned out great after all, C did a lot of stuff for the wedding all by herself and it was good to know that her effort did not go to waste. Congrats to C and KS for finally tying the knot!

Looks like I will be going to Malaysia once every half a year to attend a wedding dinner there. I have received notice from another poly classmate of mine that she will be holding her wedding dinner in KL in May and another one is holding hers at the end of 2009... -_-''''

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! This post is a bit late lah but I only found the time to blog now... :P

My Heffalump wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

This week has been a crazy week for me. It was mostly doing some last minute shopping for some Christmas present after work, attend some event with my colleague, making Swarovski Crystal Angels as Christmas present and making an ang bao box for my good friend's wedding this coming Saturday. I am quite happy with the Angels that I made for the ladies. :D I have a guy friend who after learning that I made those myself that he want to learn how to do it too. It is really easy stuff but I think it looks pretty nice. :D

The Swarovski Crystal Angels that I made for Christmas.

I received quite a number of Christmas present this year. For some reason, a lot of people gave food this year. I received like 3 boxes of chocolates and 2 boxes of cookies. I received something from The Body Shop for gift exchange and 2 cups from Starbucks. There's some other stuff that I receive too. I am too lazy to take a picture of them this year. I even left some of my presents in the office because it is too heavy for me to bring everything back.

I spent Christmas Eve together with some of my Secondary School friends. Just a simple pot-luck gathering at one of their place. I think the 小娘惹 showing on Channel 8 is really popular now. To think one of the guys specially request to watch it at 9pm which most of us were happy to oblige with. I am a fan of that show too just that I seldom make it home in time to watch it. :P

I did nothing much today except sleep~! I was busying packing my bag earlier as I will be away in Malaysia the next few days to attend my good friend's wedding. I was looking at the size of my luggage and commented to another good friend of mine that I pack a 5D4N bag for a 3D2N event...

Anyway, I hope the coming year will be better for all. May all dreams come true... :)

The Start of a No-lifer...

I went for my orientation in SIM today. We watched some videos, filled up some forms and recieved our timetables. Wah liao... I am going to have super no life for the next 2 years... Most of the weeks I am required to go school for either 3 or 4 days. Some of my classes sway sway fall on Saturdays too... Sian 1/2... Bo bian... This is the choice that I made... I just have to go along with it no matter how no life it will make me.

I seem to be spending quite a lot recently. Not sure if it is because bonus is coming or because I know I will not have much chance to shop at all after I start school. I think I easily spend like $200 within these two days? -_-'''' I better stop liao. After all I need to save up my bonus for pay for my school fees!

Polaroid Camera

For some reason, I suddenly have the idea of getting a Polaroid Camera. See how much will it cost and long term wise with the cost of the film... Don't ask me why I feel like getting one. I am not very sure why also. I still have to think think... But then I am super broke liao leh... The worse thing is, I will continue to be this broke for the rest of the 2+ years... Sigh... Bo bian... It's something I have to do... :(

Christmas Shopping

I spent the past 2 days to get some Christmas shopping done. Honestly, this year's Christmas is very different. I did not really spend much effort to buy a present for most of the people especially for those gift exchange presents. It's more of those "get for the sake of getting" kind of feeling. It's not like last year when I hoped that everyone will get the most appropriate present for them but there are still some which I still buy with the thoughts of the user in mind.

I bought a considerable less no of presents too but I decided to hand make some presents too. I hope nobody whom I did not get a present for got any for me. :P

Stabbed...

I am not very surprise to know that you stabbed me in front of my boss. Hmm... Maybe stabbed is not exactly the correct word to use since you just said that I am inflexible. Oh man... Call me inflexible for all you like. Just do yourself a favour. Please don't use some stupid things that happened N years ago as an example of my so-called being inflexible. Because those things that happened had totally nothing to do with me at all. You are only making yourself look stupid by quoting them as an example. It only shows how well you know about those stuff that happened then or it only shows that you are finding yourself lack of stuff to use to call me inflexible. And oh... the other example you used to call me inflexible? I did not make the decision myself. 3 people made the decision 2+ years ago together so why blame it on me and call me inflexible? *roll eyes*

Operation 整新郎和兄弟 Day!

Hee... I met up for dinner with some of my poly girlfriends to discuss about what we will be required to do on my good friend's wedding later this month. Most importantly, our plans on what are we going to do to 整 the 新郎 and 兄弟! :D

I think the best part of this is that the bride-to-be is the one who did ALL the research and came up with the games to be "played"! Haha... I am soooo looking forward to the wedding... Haha...

Clear Leave~!

It's the time of the year to start clearing leave liao... I still have 5 days of annual leave to clear, of which I will be taking one on 26 Decemeber since my good friend from Poly days is getting married in Malaysia then. I need to go there earlier because I have to be her jie mei! I am starting to pity her husband liao... I can't imagine how we will "torture" him especially when there's a no food rule since he has a weak stomach.

As I am going back to school next year, my manager actually offer to let me bring forward some of my leave to next year! This is great news since there's a no carrying over of leave policy in my company. If there is any carrying over of leave, there must be some valid reason and it is usually "under-table" kind of arrangement. I think I will trying carrying over one or two days leave to next year since I can foresee myself taking quite a bit of leave next year for exams and all... Another lucky thing is that next year, I will have more leave since I will be hitting my 5th year in the company liao... The more leave the merrier... :P

Christmas is round the corner...

Christmas is round the corner again! This year I have yet to do ANY Christmas shopping at all... I have ermm... I think 3 gift exchange presents to get and some other presents that I decide to make...

For some reason, this year's Christmas feels a little different... I don't seem to look forward to it as much as I used to. Is it because I am getting too old for it already? I definitely hope this is not the reason... :P

Books

I passed by Page One the other day and saw that they were having some sale so I popped by and bought 2 books. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at $9.90 which is really a steal considering it to usually cost $40+. The other book that I bought was Jeffrey Archer's new book A Prisoner of Birth at $18+ before a 20% discount.

The Harry Potter book is more for collection since I have 2 of the books and I have actually finished the ebook version. Maybe one day I will buy the first few books too. :P As for Jeffrey Archer's book? I have been thinking of borrowing it for quite sometime but decided to just buy it since it was on sale. :P I have yet to read it but I will try to start soon. :P

My Appeal is Successful~! :D

After some unpleasant exchange with someone who wasn't even trying to be of any help, more phone calls with another nice and helpful lady to help me with my appeal, I am happy to be able to say that my appeal is finally successful~! :D I am finally accepted for the 2 years programme and so I will be starting school next January. :D

I both look forward and don't look forward to school. It will be the best if I can study full time but I know with my current situation, it is impossible. All in all, I do know that I need to move on. So, time to get back to studying!

Quarantine

I watched Quarantine with my boyfriend and another 2 friends of ours last night. I almost puked while watching this movie, not because of the disgusting scenes but because of the "shakey" camera. It has been quite a long time since I last feel like puking from "motion sickness" lor... It's like another Blair Witch Project kind of movie but as I never really finish watching a Blair Witch Project movie before, so I can't really comment which is more "shakey".

Frankly, unless you are looking for a kick of motion sickness, please don't watch that movie.

Another 3 years of my Life?

I guess it is good to buy "insurance" after all. I got my reply from SIM(RMIT) today. Yes, they accepted me BUT they want me to go for the Level 1 programme which will take me 3 years to complete!

Damn... Why is this happening all over again?! The first time I applied for another course from RMIT, they offered me the 2 years programme when I was hoping to get accepted for the 1.5 years programme. Now, I was hoping that they will accept me for a 2 years programme and yet they want me to take up the 3 years programme. They must have dislike me alot...

I have just sent them an appeal letter. I HOPE this time they will give me good news. I am not very keen on spending another 3 years of my life studying...

Banned!

I went into office this morning to find myself having problem logging into Windows Messenger. It was later in the day when we realised that my company has blocked Windows Messenger or rather all kinds of chats around... Not only that, we now have to input a Username and Password whenever we want to use the internet. -_-'''' Super duper sian lor... Now even if we want to use the internet, it may be monitored by other people... Sian... What to do right?

01 December, 2008

Rejected...

Damn... I just receive a letter from UniSIM rejecting my application for the January 2009 intake. They say they will consider me a place for the July 2009 intake. This time die liao... Heng I got buy "insurance" and applied with SIM(RMIT) too. Let's hope that SIM(RMIT) will accept me if not, this time I confirm die... Haha...

In Loving Memory of Hammie the Hamster

My hamster passed away today... So sad... :'( She's still so young!!! Roborovski Hamster are said to be able to live up to 4 years but our poor Hammie died when she's still only 1+ years old. :'(

We suspected that she died of eye infection because her eyes were swollen and couldn't even open. She wasn't even eating or drinking anymore then. I had the medication but she died before we can do anything about it. Sigh...

We took this picture of her when we just bought her. Too bad we did not take any more photos of her after that. :(

At least she won't be able to feel any pain anymore... Rest in peace... I will miss you...

How Romantic Are You?

I read about the How Romantic Are You? quiz that Xinyun tried in her blog so I decided try it too. Knowing myself, I don't expect to get those "You are Very Romantic" kind of results. I expect myself to end up in the other side instead as I am such a practical person. How right I am... :P

Randoms...

SPUG Gathering
I went out with the usual gang for dinner yesterday at Santouka in Central. Actually we wanted to go to Liang Court for Ramen but it was drizzling and Brian said he's tired and didn't want to walk all the way there. Dk did not join us as he was doing his reservist. I figured that since it is so hard to find a date to accomodate to everyone, heck lah... Just go ahead with the gathering. We can always try to get everyone out again another day. :P

Christmas Presents
I was thinking of making something for some of my female friends as Christmas gifts this year. I bought the materials already. Let just see if I'll be successful in making them. It looks quite easy to make, provided I have the patience. But then, I am never one with patience at all... Hee... See how lah...

Pissed off
I am feeling very pissed off. I have not felt that way in a very long time liao until the point that I actually use a word on that someone that I almost don't use on anyone. But... There's nothing I can do also... It's not my say at all. So I can just sit and look and feel pissed off... Now I can only tell myself to relax... Damn... !@#$

Tired
I was in a almost whole day meeting today and went bowling with my colleagues for some teambuilding thingy. Bowling is so tiring!!! It doesn't help that I am pretty lousy in bowling. lol... Nevertheless, with some luck, I still managed to strike! :D

I have another meeting tomorrow and I am supposed to do a presentation then. So boring... Luckily it's badminton and table tennis after the meeting! Then comes the news... It's going to be a group competition... I wonder how to compete when I TOTALLY have no idea how to play table tennis? Badminton still can pian jiak a bit... But table tennis?! This time die liao lah...

My Name...

I got bored just now and decided to take a photo of the name chop I bought for myself in China. :P

There's a Fine, Fine Line

There's a Fine, Fine Line from Avenue Q. Very nice song!

My Tibits Stash

Recently I started noticing an increase in the amount of tibits found in my room that I have yet to touch, eat or share or whatever I should do with them... Some of them was bought by, some are given to me by others and it's kind of scary because before I know it, they seem to stockpile...

I think it's time for me to do something about them... Maybe I should bring them to my office... If not, I think they will stay there for quite sometime since I am those "out of sight, out of mind" kind of person :P

Avenue Q!

I caught Avenue Q with my sister last Sunday at Esplanade. I can only say the show is great! Worth every penny of the $70 ticket that we bought. I would have recommend the show to those who have yet to catch it if not for the fact that the show that my sister and I watched was the last performance.

Some quotes from the show that I find quite funny / interesting:

"The Internet is for porn!"

"Everyone's a Little Bit Racist"

"There's A Fine, Fine Line between Love and Waste of Time"

"Everything in Life is Just For Now"

Where Are We Going?

A lot of times in my life, I stopped and asked myself what is it in life that I am searching for? What am I trying to achieve and for what? Honestly, I have yet to find the answer. I have no idea what is it that I want. Even though I had thought about it for a long time but still... I have no idea where am I going...

I chanced upon this book that a bookshop in Raffles City is selling. I would have bought it and use it if it is an organiser. Too bad it is a travel journal instead... I have no idea where I am going but I do hope that no matter where I end up at, it will be good. :)

Japanese Mug Noodles

I bought this Japanese Mug Noodles from Meidi-Ya Supermarket in Liang Court quite sometime ago. It looks so cute that I just have to buy it. :P

I finally have time to try it and this is how it looks like! Cute right? :D There are actually 2 different flavours. However I only realised it after I pour the 2 different flavours into the cup itself. I decided to just eat them together. Luckily the taste is still quite nice. :P

Macarons~!

Macarons must be one of my favourite desserts or pastry around. It's true that it's very sweet but being me, who loves almost everything sweet, it is absolutely heaven to me. :D

I passed by Canele this evening and saw their Macarons. How can I possibly resist them? My bf bought me one because I find them too expensive and refused to get more than one. No matter how much I love them, I still think that one small macaron cost $2.30 is too expensive! It can only be an indulgence for me once in a while. :(

Anyway, I think Canele looks like a very nice dessert place to go. I will pop by there for dessert one of these days. :D

Nespresso

I was in Takashimaya shopping around this evening when I passed by the Nespresso counter at B1. I first heard about Nespresso a few months ago when one of my good friend is dying to get an espresso machine as his birthday present. He pasted the link on his MSN for all to see what he wanted. So I went to the link and read about Nespresso.

I think Nespresso has very interesting espresso machines. They have their coffee in capsule form so their machine will actually pierce holes through the capsules to make the coffee. They actually allow you to try their coffee at their counter. You can choose to have it with or without milk, cappucino or latte. So professional! :P I tried their Vivalto Long White and I kind of like it because it does not have the acidic taste that I hate.

My Vivalto Long White

Nespresso Taster Box with their different coffee blends

I will definitely consider a Nespresso machine if I have my own house in the future... Till then... :D

Melty Kiss~!

I was at the supermarket in Isetan Shaw House this evening when I saw Melty Kiss on the shelves. Finally it's the time of the year when Melty Kiss is out in the market again! Hee... :D The supermarket in Isetan Shaw House has 3 flavours on their shelves; Strawberry, Chocolate and Dark Rum. As I tried Strawberry and Chocolate flavours before, so I bought the Dark Rum to try. Yummy~! :D

Hi Mr M&Ms...

I met a friend for dinner tonight. He gave me Mr. M&Ms which he bought for me at the airport when he went overseas ... Hee... One more Mr. M&Ms to add to my collection. Frankly, I am quite surprised that he actually remembered that I collect them. Thank you! :D

Say Hi to Mr. M&Ms... :D

What is the worst thing that can happen when you are bitching about someone?

What is the worst thing that can happen when you are bitching about someone? I guess that is probably letting the person whom you are bitching about know that you are bitching about them. Haha...

I was supposed to meet my colleague this afternoon to go attend our ex-colleague's baby girl's 1st birthday this afternoon. So we arranged to meet at amk mrt station at 12.30pm to take a cab there together. As I got out of my house only at 12.10pm so I told her that I will be late. Anyway I decided to take a cab to amk then pick up my colleague to go there together as I didn't want to let her wait for me. Taking a cab from my place to amk will only take 15mins max so I figured that I will still be on time to reach at 12.30pm.

While I was on the cab, I received an sms from my colleague complaining to the intended receipent that I am really late queen, that we arranged this morning at 10.30am to meet at 12.30pm yet I left my house only at 12.10pm and blah blah blah... Yes, she sent that sms to me... Haha... She sent me a second sms when I guess she realised her mistake and said she's complaining and she hates to wait for people. Then she called me and tried a feeble attempt to redeem herself... Too late...

I still want to say... I was not late... I reached at 12.30pm sharp... So why bitch about me when I was not late at all? -_-''''

Dallas Chicken

I went to Dallas Chicken with my boyfriend last weekend to have a late lunch there. As we were not very hungry so we did not try out their chicken buffet. In fact, having a buffet of fried chicken does not appeal to me at all. I think I will be pretty sick of fried chicken after the 3rd or 4th piece, provided I can eat that much in the first place. :P

Anyway, I was not very fascinated by Dallas Chicken at all. It is just... chicken lor... I still prefer KFC anytime even though KFC is definitely much more oilier but at least the chicken is still tasty... Popeye is another good choice over Dallas also...

I took a look at their $12 buffet and there are some terms and conditions that comes with it. It not exactly an All-You-Can-Eat kind of buffet. Not that I am really interested in it though. :P

Dallas Chicken anyone?

Wii Mario Kart

My bf just bought a new Wii game - Mario Kart yesterday. So we spent sometime today trying it out. It was very fun! The original game comes together with a "steering wheel" which makes the game more fun because it's like you are really driving! :P

Let's see how long can this game sustain my interest for. :P

Manhattan Fish Market

I met up with a few of my JC classmates for dinner just now at Plaza Singapura Manhattan Fish Market. One of my good friend when I was in JC turned up for the gathering and I was quite happy to see him since I last saw him quite long ago. There's the usual catching up with each other while we were having dinner.

I had their Catch of the Day which is a Dory with Garlic Butter. I took their set so it came together with mushroom soup and Ice Lemon Tea. I did not take any pictures of the food because I was kind of lazy. The food there was quite alright, kind of like the food in Fish & Co. Prices of the food is around Fish & Co too. However, I doubt I will step into it again. As I suffered an allergy reaction after eating my dinner there... -_-''''

Everything was fine for me before I had dinner. However, it was I started feeling something weird with my right eye while I was having my dinner. After checking in the mirror, I could see a part of my eye area swelling. It got worse and ended up looking like a very horrible eyebag! :( Luckily the swell subside after sometime.

I think I have to ban Manhattan Fish Market from my list of places to makan since I have no idea what I am allergic to. I do not want to risk having a swollen eye again. :P

Happy Birthday~!

Happy Birthday to me! :P How time flies... I have just turn 26 today. Errmmm... Wrong... I should still insist like how I insist to my colleagues that I am 21 every year. :P No matter how old I am, I still feel that time really flies... It's good in a way but in another way, I feel that it flies too fast... There are so many things that I want to but have yet to have a chance to do.

Anyway, my manager treated me to lunch at a very nice restaurant in Vivocity called Imperial Herbal Restaurant. The food there is very good! Definitely worth a visit for all. Price wise is still pretty ok but it also depend on what you are ordering.

养颜汤

Some very yummy appetiser with egg yolk and dried scallops. Supposed to be their best seller I think.

My main course for lunch. It's some Japanese style noodles.

I have a lovely colleague who baked a strawberry shortcake for me as my birthday cake! :D

I met my bf for dinner at Ma Maison in Bugis. I quite like that restaurant even though I have a friend who don't think the food there is worth paying so much for.

My Sirloin Steak in Tamari sauce

My bf's Tonkatsu Set

My sirloin steak was more of a medium cooked even though I requested for medium well. However the steak was quite nice and the portion was quite big.

I had a yummy birthday today... No wonder I am putting on weight... :(

Eat, Drink and Sing...

I have quite a busy weekend. I met up with some of my JC classmates for dinner on Friday because one of my closer JC classmates were back from US. Even though he will be coming back permanently in November but since it had been quite sometime since we last met, I decided to get everyone out.

Gathering with my JC classmates was basically a eat, drink and talk affair. We first went to BK for dinner, then went to the food court in Marina Square for round 2 because 1 of them who joined us at a later time had not have her dinner yet, then we went to Swensens for Round 3. Felt damn full after that...

I met up with my ex-colleagues whom I got to know when I was working part time in Breeks for a KTV and supper session. It's really like a first half of the concert by 2 person and 2 half of the concert by 3 person. :P It was quite fun meeting up with them after so long. Even though we had some ice breaking to do cos it had been so long since we last met. Luckily we all used to know each other very well when we were working. I still can remember how fun it was when we used to work together. Those were the days... :)

14 October, 2008

A Very Nua Weekend...

My bf is currently doing his reservist and as he had an exercise over the weekend, so I was left to figure out how I would like to spend my weekend without him around. :P

For some reason, I remember that I had an appointment on Saturday night. However no matter how I tried, I just couldn't recall who am I supposed to meet. So too bad to the person whom I flown the aeroplane to. Anyway no one called me to scold me so I just take it as I don't have a prior appointment after all. :P I stayed at home the almost the whole day until I went to Millienium Walk to help my friend collect something. I bought a pair of flats and went for my family dinner. It was a dinner to celebrate my uncle's birthday. I saw almost all my cousins and their kids there. It's amazing how fast the kids have grown. I simply love my cousin's daughter because she was so funny. :P

I was supposed to join my sister for hiking in Bt Timah but I decided I was too lazy and I am lacking of a pair of shoes to wear too since my Adidas sports shoes decided to retire. I slept my whole morning away just to wake up and watch my favourite CSI. :P My sister and I baked some brownie which luckily tastes quite ok. At least it's not too sweet. We really should start baking again. :P

Sometimes I feel that it is great to spend sometime alone to yourself. At least I quite like it that way... :P

Reminiscing the Past...

I was reading through some of my blog entries that I had written 4 years ago in another site. I feel so old now after going through those entries. Those entries reminded me about my past. About things that I had done and said then. About things that I had forgotten. Then it suddenly occurs to me that I seemed to be reminiscing alot of the past nowadays. Maybe it is a sign of me getting old? Maybe I really am... After all, I am going to turn 26 in a few more days. Sigh...

I was looking back at the life that I had over the past 25 years. Not that I really remember anything from when I was just born until probably when I was 4 years old? However, recently I will think about things that had happened when I was 10 years old and all the way until a few weeks ago. Maybe in a way, I am hoping that I will be able to know what I really want in life from the things that had happened in the past.

At times, I can't help but marvel over the fact of how much my life had changed over the last 3 or probably 4 years. In a way, some events that had happened, turned my whole world upside down. Things that I had expected, did not happen. Things that I did not expect, happened. I guess that's just life. You can never fully predict what will happen next.

One thing that I read from my other blog entries from another site struck me was my best friend telling me many years ago that I do not know what I want in life. It seemed to me that even though so many years had passed, I still have no idea what I really want in life. I wonder how long will it take me to find what I want in life. I do hope I will know soon after all I am not getting any younger. Sigh...

不在乎天长地久,只在乎曾经拥有?

For some reason, this phrase just popped up into my mind while I was pondering about the somethings. 不在乎天长地久,只在乎曾经拥? Will you be contented with 曾经拥有 if you cannot have 天长地久?

My Bo Chup Attitude in Life...

Once in a while, I have people around me who will chat with me and suddenly offer comments about certain friends of mine saying that they are no good and blah blah blah blah blah... They may not know my friends very well but they will always like to offer their comments. Very often than not, I will usually listen and not comment on anything.

I do not really like to comment on what other people has to say about my friends, simply because there is no point in arguing back with them trying to "protect" my friends. I am not really trying to avoid arguments. It is more of everyone has their own opinions about other people. They may know my friends at a different point of their life and thus view my friends in this way. However, most importantly, I judge my friends by how they treat me and not how they treat others. If my friends are treating me well as how a friend should treat each other, I see no reason why I should treat them otherwise. Even if they may be a bastard or a bitch to some other people, it really doesn't matter much to me. As long as they do not treat me that way, they can be the bastard or bitch in everyone eyes but they are still my friend. Things always happen for a reason. There may be a reason behind why they are such a bastard or a bitch but which not everyone will know the real reason, unless you are the privileged few. After all, I am in no position to judge them too since I am no angel myself.

In a way, I guess this is the bo chup attitude that I use on things around me. I do things the way I like and think is right, treat people the way they treat me and in a way, live my life the way I like. Just like even though sometimes I do know what I say may offend a colleague of mine, I will still tell her what I think I should let her know. After all, I don't like to keep too much things to myself. I have enough things that I am keeping to myself. I don't need to bother myself with such small little things. I already have many things running in my mind at the same time that I do not need to load anymore things into it anymore.

Afterthoughts of Travelling Alone...

I have been wanting to write about travelling alone for quite sometime. Just that I keep forgetting about it. :P

A lot of people were actually quite surprised that I travelled alone when I was in China. My colleague keep asking me whether I am sure that I am really going to travel alone in China. Especially when it is not a one day kind of thing. I will be there travelling alone for around a week. My manager told me that he didn't think it is ok to travel alone in China because to him, travelling alone is possible if you are going to those more developed countries such as Australia, New York and etc. China is not within his list of travelling alone kind of countries. He said that I had proven him wrong about it after all.

This was the first time I travelled on my own. I have been to Thailand, Malaysia and Japan but all those trips that I made were together with other people. So it is actually something quite different for me to travel alone in Beijing and Shenyang. The feeling is very different from travelling together with other people.

I don't deny that travelling alone is kind of lonely. You don't have anyone else to share with your discoveries, you don't have anyone else to talk to on the trip and most importantly, you don't have another person to share food with (like my Peking Duck saga) and there's only so much that you can eat alone. :( You also have to learn how to 自拍. Haha... I remember thinking to myself halfway through my trip alone that I do not want to travel alone again the next time. It's just too lonely I guess.

However, in a way after I completed my trip, I had this thinking in my mind that it is not bad to travel alone after all. I have the option of going to places where I want to go, eating what I want to eat, waking up in the morning then planning for my day's iternery and etc. I don't have to worry if my companion is fine with the accomodation that I am booking as I am not very particular about my lodgings since I only need a bed to sleep in. It's like... I am free to do whatever I want to do. Even my trip up to Beijing and Shenyang was kind of made last minute because I am free to decide what I want to do. I guess I do need this kind of freedom once in a while.

I have no idea if I still have a chance to travel alone another time. But I do know I will definitely still do it if I have the opportunity. Till then... :)

It's Time...

I was writing in my small book about somethings and I came to a realisation... Something that I had realised for quite sometime and someone had told me but I just somehow choose to ignore and turn a deaf ear to.

It's time for me to move on and not keep thinking about things that will not happen. It is better to preserve some memories and let it be the way it is now instead of letting things happen and maybe things will turn out ugly and ruin the fond memories that I had. Just let things remain as what it is now...

Friend from Long Ago...

I was looking through the photos in Facebook just now when I saw a familar face. She was probably my best friend when I was in Secondary School.

I still remember our friendship started in a weird way. We were not in the same class in Secondary 1 and 2 but we were from the same CCA. Somehow we just started talking to each other along the corridor outside our classroom after we knew each other. We were in the same class in Secondary 3 and 4 and started hanging out with each other more often especially when we plan and organise activities for our CCA.

I still remember we used to lunch alot in Mos Burger and KFC. We used to hold our CCA meetings with a few others in KFC. I still remember the time a bunch of us used to spend together just talking, making fun of each other, planning for our CCA meetings outside the Scouts Room. They were all very fond memories...

For some reason, I just decided to give her a call for a chat. She got married last year which I was invited to and now she is already five months pregnant! So fast... I am kind of happy for her because I know how much she want to have a kid young. She told me that she had quit her job and is now working as a property agent.

We chatted for a while more and agreed to meet up for dinner sometime near my birthday. I am looking forward to meeting this old friend. :)

Love is not complicated, Human is...

I was browsing this blog when I saw the blogger writing this: "Love is not complicated, Human is... Its We ourselves make our relationships complicated because no one will truely know what's on the other person's mind..."

I can't help but agree with how true it is. Relationships will not be as complicated if you know what's on the other person's mind. But how often can you find someone whom you truely know his / her mind? At least I know I have yet to find that someone. Does that someone even exist?

Collection of Memories

I was in my room looking for some cds when I saw this pretty box in the drawer. I could not recall what did I kept inside so I decided to open it up and see. Inside that box, was a stack of postcards. I used to collect postcards, especially those movie postcards. I still have stacks of them in my house which I think I should clear one of these days when I'm free. They are taking up too much space liao. As I have so many postcards, I used to use them as my "diary". The stack of postcards inside the box, was a collection of my memories of many many years ago.

Those postcards were around 5 years old. It stirred up memories of my past relationship and my thoughts about it then. Things that I had totally forgot about until I read about it...

I bought a new book when I was in China that I am intending to use as a diary. It's time to get back to writing in a proper book. I think I still like the feel of writing in a book. :)

Back to School...

I have finally decided not to drag my feet anymore and go back to school. It has been quite sometime since I had graduated from my Advanced Diploma so I figured that I really should get back to school. It is time for me to get my degree... Not that I am those who LOVES studying. In a way, I think it is a must for me to get a degree if I want to move on in my career. Right now, I am not up there, neither am I down there. So in short, I am stuck here.

Actually I wanted to go study for my degree last year but because RMIT rejected my appeal for their 1.5 years course, I decided to be KL and not study even though they accepted me for their 2 years course. :P Now it's a bo bian kind of thing lah. I am not getting any younger. If I want to study, now is the time to do so. Any later, I have no idea if I still have the mood to go back to school. :P

Time to go back to school!

Things Changed. People Changed. I Changed.

For some reason, the thought of "Things Changed. People Changed. I Changed." has been on my mind since yesterday. Maybe because yesterday was the first time I saw her in person ba. My ex bf's current gf.

Even though we had broken up, my ex bf and I remained very good friends mainly because we were very good friends before we got together. He is someone whom I can tell everything to but that's about it for the both of us.

My ex bf's gf and I have a mutual friend and I tagged along to the dinner outing that they are having. In short, I am extra lah... When I first saw my ex's gf, the first thing I did was to sms him and exclaimed "Your pattern kind of girl!" Haha... I think he was a bit -_-'''' as he replied saying "then what do you expect?" Haha... I was like how would I know she is SO your type? It's not about looks and all. It's the feeling that she's the type of girl he fancy... In a way, she just feel like another him... The feeling of them being just right for each other is kind of hard to shake off. Provided they don't kill each other first. :P

After seeing her, chat with her and etc, the thought of Things Changed. People Changed. I Changed just suddenly popped up into my mind. Many years ago, we may be the right one for each other then. However, as the years passed, things have changed, people changed and so did I. When I look at it now, it is very hard to imagine being together with my ex even though we are very good friends. Maybe at that point of time, we were right together. However, that is in the past. I guess maybe because I have changed. I am no longer the girl who knows him 8 years ago. Neither is he the guy I know 8 years ago. My thinking have changed. He was no longer the right guy for me. I guessed that is probably one of the reason why the two of us broke up many years ago too.

I guess I have changed as I met different people along the way in life. Things that happened to me also make me take a brand new outlook of life. I guess it is also one of the reasons why I have become so bo chup at somethings. Things that may or may not concern me. Sometimes I do find it hard to explain why is it that I have changed so much that I can barely understand myself anymore. At times, I am left questioning myself why am I doing things the way I will never do many months or even years ago. I have yet to get an answer. Whatever it is, life still goes on. I need to move on too. At least I really hope I can...

Live from 桃仙机场

I am now sitting in a cafe at 桃仙机场 of Shenyang waiting for the time to board my plane to go back to Shanghai. I did not manage to meet up with my friend but I was still quite ok alone. After all, I managed to travel alone in Beijing with no difficulty so why would Shenyang pose any problem right? I think my mum was kind of shocked when she heard that I travel to Beijing alone. I did not tell her I am going to Beijing at all because it was all a last minute decision. I better get prepared for a scolding from her when I reach home. :P

I will be going back to Singapore tomorrow. I am away from Singapore for almost 2 weeks. I think this is the first time I have been away from home for so long but the funny thing is that I don't miss home as much as I thought I will. But no matter what, I am still looking forward to being back home. :)

Freezing Cold in Shenyang...

I am currently in Shenyang and it is freaking cold here!!! It is like 20 Degrees outside and feels like 16 Degrees when the wind blows! Brrr... Damn cold lor...

Raining in Shenyang

I got into Shenyang at around 8+ the night before. I was hungry but had no mood to try out any local food so I bought a cup noodles, thinking of eating it in the hotel room. I got back to the hotel and wanted to fill the kettle with tap water but changed my mind after I saw that the water that was flowing out from the tap looks yellowish. Luckily I bought some biscuits as backup so those became my dinner instead. :(

My second day in Shenyang started off in a bad way. First, it was raining when I woke up. Then, the tour guide that I had arranged to bring me around for a one day tour in Shenyang sent me an sms saying that due to the rain, the one day tour will be cancelled. Damn it! I was looking forward to it lor... I went back to bed for a while then woke up at 8 plus and went down to have breakfast in the hotel. The breakfast the hotel provided taste very awful lor. I will rather stay in my room and eat biscuits for breakfast tomorrow morning than to go down and have their breakfast again. :P

Since it was raining, I decided to go to their 五爱市场 first as I want to stay indoors. I was hoping that the rain will stop soon so that I can go to 沈阳故宫 by myself. This place is even more 夸张 than Shanghai and Beijing's wholesale market lor. It has one WHOLE shopping center just selling shoes alone... Power! Too bad I had already bought 2 pairs of shoes in Shanghai liao or else I will don't mind getting some shoes. :P I did however buy 2 turtle neck tops from other wholesale shopping center. No choice lah... It is really cold and even though I was wearing a jacket over my tshirt, I can still feel how cold it is especially when the wind blows. I was so tempted to buy their jackets! Their winter jackets are so pretty! The only reason why I never get them is because I won't be needing them in Singapore. So sad... :(

I took a cab down to 沈阳故宫 after I visited the 五爱市场 even though it was still raining then. I have no idea what time the rain will stop so there's no point waiting any longer. The palace was not as big as what I had expected it to be. It took me 1 or 2 hours before I finished exploring that place. During my stay in 沈阳故宫, a drama happened! As it was raining, so I was carrying an umbrella with me while I explored the palace. I left my umbrella outside one of the halls showing some exhibits and by the time I left the hall, my umbrella was gone! I was very angry because the rain was not very small, I was already feeling very cold from the weather and as much as I don't mind getting wet from the rain, I will definitely mind if it was because someone stole my umbrella! I walked around the palace and soon spotted someone with my umbrella! I went up to the man and confronted him asking him to return me the umbrella that he had stolen. He tried to deny saying that it was a mistake, he took the umbrella by mistake and etc but I just ignored his explanation and took my umbrella and left. I can't believe someone actually stealing an umbrella!

After I left the palace, I went to a restaurant nearby to have lunch. I tried this dumpling from the restaurant called because I could vaguely remember the taxi driver telling me that the dumpling from that restaurant is a must try. The dumplings taste not bad lah... Something different but I wasn't very impressed by it too. :P It was later when I realised that I went to the wrong shop! Haha... I went back to the hotel after that to get a change of clothes to something thicker. No choice lah... It was really too cold for me... Brrr...

I went roaming around their shopping area called 中街 after I went back to the hotel and changed. 中街 is a bit different from the usual shopping scene in Singapore. Very few high end retail shops and etc. The food there interest me more instead. I bought this 鸡蛋饼 from this store along the road, a stick of 麻辣鱿鱼 and also this famous 肉饼. The food are actually quite nice, just that I find the 肉饼 a tad too salty.

The 鱿鱼s waiting to be cooked

The famous 肉饼

Shenyang was not as bad as I thought after all...

One Night in Beijing...

I reached Beijing at around 9plus in the morning and took a taxi to the hotel. Since I will be here for only a night, I decided to stay in a room that is rather small and cost like less than S$30. After all, I only need a bed to sleep in for the night. :P

The first impression that Beijing gave me was that it is not as congested when compared to Shanghai. The roads are wider, the air is definitely very bad because it is hazy no matter where I look. Traffic in Beijing don't seem quite as bad as it is in Shanghai but from what I heard, they are still having the alternate days driving ruling in order to reduce pollution.

I made a trip up to 八达岭 which is part of the Great Wall of China. It was really very wow! It is really amazing how did they build this up so many many years ago. As I was too lazy to climb up there from the bottom, I took the cable car up to the top and went downwards! Haha... I know that's cheating. :P I spent 3+ hours up there before I decided to leave the place.

I went to this wholesale center called 秀水市场 after that and I realised that Beijinese can speak English very well! You can hear them speaking fluently English to those Ang Mo tourists there. This is something that I did not notice in Shanghai when I was at their wholesale center. I saw a fan there that I thought is quite funny... Oh the proud Chinese... Lol...

I actually wanted to try the Peking Duck from this restaurant called 全聚德 which was recommended to me by a taxi driver. I went all the way to 前门 for it but left without eating... Partly because there are lots of people there and another part is because the minimum order for the Peking Duck is half a duck! There's no way I can finish half a duck by myself so bo bian I left Beijing without eating my Peking Duck! :( But I did buy some Peking Duck to bring back to Singapore. Must 安慰 myself a bit mah. :P

As I was still pretty early, I took Beijing's MRT to 王府井 which is sort of equivalent to Singapore's Orchard Road. Wah liao... The whole street is full of Li Ning's boutique lor. I find that his shop is a copy of both Nike and Adidas. The logo is a modified version of Nike's and the slogan, Adidas!

I explored the nearby streets and came across this street called 东华门美食坊. I was hoping that I can find something interesting for dinner since I did not get to eat my Peking Duck. One thing I realised after being to Shanghai and Beijing is that people in China loves to eat things on sticks. You can find all sorts of perculiar things that they put on sticks and eat either fried or just cooked. Fruits which are put on sticks and eaten just that way or made into 冰糖葫芦, or weird stuff such as silk worms, seahorses, starfish and etc.

I lost my appetite when I saw these... Yucks!

I went back to the hotel without my dinner. Lost all my appetite. I have no idea how did some people eat these. Yucks!
