Resolution for 2008

Ok... After reflecting back on what I did for Year 2007, naturally here comes what I hope to do in Year 2008... So here goes my resolution for Year 2008...

1. Lose a few kgs.
I definitely can do with taking some weight off my body... I will start my jogging again and in turn hopefully will be able to lpse some weight too... :)

2. Take up a course
I am thinking of taking up a course with the community centre. It may be yoga or some sorts. The main aim is to make use of my time and also to learn something new. I have been idling at home for too long after I finished my Advanced Diploma so it's time for me to learn something new.

3. Learn and pass driving
As much as I know I am a mobile road hazard, I have decided to learn driving... However, first I need to pass my Advanced Theory. I will be taking my retest this week so wish me luck! :D

4. Save more money
One thing I am good in is to spend money. I have been able to save some amount but it is very little. I am aiming to save more money this year... Let's hope I will succeed...

Let's see how much of my resolution I can complete this time round... :D

GoodBye 2007 Hello 2008

2007 has come and is going soon... In exactly 24 hours times, 2008 will arrive... So I guess it is time for me to look back at 2007...

2007 has been a great year for me so far. It is just sad that it seems to me that I seem to be losing contact with even more friends even though my resolution for 2007 is to try to keep in more contact with my friends. I had met up with a couple of friends whom I had not seen in years but I had also not met up with some of my very dear friends whom I would love to keep in constant contact with. Sometimes I have no idea if I am the only one who is trying to make an effort to meet up with some of them because it seems that most of the times I seem to be the one initiating the meet ups. I definitely hope I am just being too sensitive here...

I think I have gained another few kgs in 2007... ~!@# I had started jogging but had stopped for a couple months as I was quite busy with work. It seems quite hard to start my engine again after I stopped my jogging... :P Ok lah... I will make it an effort to start my jogging routine soon... :D

That's more or less for my 2007... Let's hope 2008 will be a better year...

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone...! Hope you all will have great fun... I didn't buy a lot of presents this year so please don't blame me if I forget your present... :P

For those who has yet to catch Alvin and the Chipmunks, I think it is worth watching. The movie is quite funny... I still like Theodore the most... :D Some of the songs inside are quite cute as well... :D

Flea Fly Mosquito...

This song keeps ringing in my mind throughout the whole of today...

Flea Fly Mosquito
Flea (Flea)
Flea Fly (Flea Fly)
Flea Fly Mosquito (Flea Fly Mosquito)

Calamine! (Calamine!)
Calamine Calamine Calamine lotion
Oh no more calamine lotion

Itchy itchy scratchy wacky up and down my backy wacky
Itchy Iicky scratchy wacky up and down my backside
Beep went the bug when I spray it with my spray can
Phss...

Just in case you have no idea what song is this, this is actually a campfire song that I used to sing when I was in Girl Guides.

And also, the part where I am feeling the itch is neither my back nor my back side. It is my feet... No thanks to the mosquitoes in Bukit Brown Cemetery. Grrr... I wonder how my bf survive the itch since he is in a much worse condition...

Bukit Brown Cemetery

I went to Bukit Brown Cemetery yesterday with a bunch of friends. We were there at around 1 plus in the morning for a solo and group walk activity. I think this is the first time I ever went to a cemetery and in the middle of the night.

Bukit Brown Cemetery is located somewhere near Lornie Road. I never knew there is a cemetery there until yesterday. It is said to be one of the oldest cemetery in Singapore. We drove to the cemetery and boarded a lorry that one of my friend was driving to go into the cemetery. Upon passing through the gates of the cemetery, I couldn't help start to feel the eeriness of the cemetery. I had done solo walk before in places where it was so dark that I can't even see the route in front of me and I had to rely on the light of the candle in my hand to guide me along, yet I had not ever felt so spooked or eerie.

My friends dropped my bf, me and 3 other friends off somewhere in the cemetery and asked us to follow a route which will lead us to the end point where we were supposed to wait for the others to come.

I was trying hard not to look around me while I was walking in the cemetery. However as it was the first time I ever properly been into a cemetery, I can't help but try to look and see my surroundings. As there is a clearing along the path that we were walking on, it was actually not very dark and thus the moonlight provided enough light for me to look around my surroundings a little. I can seen the silhouette of the tombstones around me. It adds to the eeriness of the surroundings.

The path where there was clearing was still no so bad to walk in. I could almost pretend that I was doing all my other solo walks. Then came the part where it was so dark that I almost could not see the path in front of me. I had to hold my bf's hand to get some confidence. Hee... I felt so kiasi then... hee... We reached the end point after we walked through that dark dark path and I waited there with my bf for the rest of the other people to come.

My bf and I were practically feeding the mosquitoes while we were waiting there. I was lucky to be wearing long pants so my mosquito bites are concentrated on the area around my feet. My bf was bitten almost everywhere. I was almost dozing off while waiting for the others to arrive when there was suddenly a very loud "BOOM" that seemed to be right beside me. I jumped off from my seat and was totally freaked out... I think my bf was quite freaked out also... Who wouldn't? It was already quite freaky to be in a cemetery in the middle of the night and so that suddenly loud noise really freaked me out. As it was too dark I couldn't really seem what happened so we decided to shift our seat further in. I couldn't sleep anymore after that incident and luckily the first person we were waiting for arrived soon after...

We got out of the cemetery at around 5 in the morning... Home sweet home to catch up on our sleep.... Yawn...

My hot chocolate from McCafe... Pretty right? :D

"Shocking" news from my friends

Heh... I was having dinner with my friends just now when someone told me this news... My ex-bf is currently dating this secondary schoolmate of ours. I can't help but laugh when I thought of the weird combination. That was when another friend of mine revealed an even more shocking news... He heard that they are planning to get married soon...

Hee... I can't help but laugh whenever I try to put them two together... No matter how hard I try, I think they just look weird together. I know they have been very good friends since secondary school but I never thought they will end up together... It just feels kind of weird... Hee...

Black "Bread" disease...

Just when I thought I finally see the light, darkness suddenly fall upon me again... Grrr....

I am currently dealing with a Black "bread" project... I have lost count of the number of Black "bread" that I had made for the past dunno how many weeks... For the first time in my life, I think I am actually feeling sick of the color black... :(

I have been dealing so much with black "bread" that as I told my colleague this after I ate the sesame paste my colleague bought.

Me: You know, I think I got poisoned by the Black "Bread".
S: What makes you think so?
Me: I was eating the sesame paste in the pantry when the thought that the sesame paste looks like the black "bread" thingy that I am doing now comes across my mind.
S: -_-'''' I think you really got poisoned...

Cham... I hope I can finish this blackie business soon... I hope the black "bread" syndrome will go away soon...

Sometimes it is good to be Kiasi...

I was reading the headlines this morning about the death of the 5 National Dragon Boat paddlers. I feel quite sad for the families who lost their sons or brothers through this incident. I am still somewhat amazed that they actually went for the competition without wearing their life jackets. Being able to perform in a competition is important, but I feel that safety is still more important than anything else. After all, if you are safe and sound, there is still always another chance for you to take part in that competition again if you lost. If you are dead, there is nothing that you can do ever again...

Reading about the incident, it brought to my mind about a report that I read before saying that most of the time people who drown are those who can swim. It may be insensitive to say this but I guess it is most probably because people who can swim may be over confident of themselves and feel that they can do without their life jackets so it is during this time when mishaps happen. For those people who can't swim or who can't swim well, they are more kiasi so they will make sure they take full precautions to ensure that no mishap will happen to them. Or in some cases, they do not even engage in water sports so as to reduce the chance of anything unfortunate from happening.

I guess sometimes it pays to be a bit more kiasi...

I pity this woman..

I came across this thread in a forum about the blog of this woman whose husband leave her for another woman after 8 years of marriage. I really think that guy is a bastard because firstly, he is leaving her for another woman after 8 years of marriage. Secondly, his wife is pregnant during the point of time when he left her. Even though I may be reading the story from the wife side, the way she wrote it is so heart wrenching that I don't think that this is all just made up by the wife. Furthermore, there should be no reason why the husband should leave the wife especially when the wife is now pregnant. Is he able to sleep well at night without feeling guilty? Does he actually have a conscience at all to treat his wife this way?

I read from the forum that the plight of the wife had spread to other forums like HWZ. I heard those people even found out that the husband and the 3rd party is working in which bank and how the 3rd party looks like and etc... The wife posted some pictures of her husband and her in her blog before so everyone who went into the blog knows how her husband looks like. However, if I am not wrong, she had removed those photos already. I think the wife looks quite pretty... I bet it will take only very little time before the company where the guy and the 3rd party works in knows about this. Internet is really amazing... It reminds me of the things people in SPUG dig out about the boy who have the online ordering of Dunkin Doughnut business just from the internet...

Who knows may be one of these days, this story will come up in the newapapers..

Bootlicker...

I am sure that there is at least one or two bootlicker in the company no matter whether the company is big or small. For me, I cannot be bothered to be a bootlicker as I see no point in doing that. Being a person who rarely pay any attention or maybe you can say that I am not a very observant person, thus it must be damn obvious in order for me to notice this bootlicker's actions... :P

For the longest time, I have kept that question in my heart about suspecting that guy "por-ing" my director. However, I did not dare to ask anyone the question whether that guy is really "por-ing" my director or is it that they are really good friends to begin with.

After a certain "incident" that happened on friday, I finally decided to ask my 2 other colleagues who are quite close to me that question. "Is he por-ing our director?" One of my colleague look at me in amazement and replied " You mean it's so obvious that even you noticed?" I quoted the incidents that occured and told them that it's really damn obvious lor... I must be blind or really insensitive to think otherwise... I dare not ask my other colleagues about it as I know they are quite close to that guy. Since this 2 other colleague of mine are not as close to him, so I decided to ask them...

Wah... It's either I am getting good at observing or it's really obvious... I guess it's the later... What do you think? :P

Metal Thief in my Block!

It is becoming more and more common to wake up one day and find that some metal in your house or in your neighbourhood stolen. I remember a while back, a thief stole the joss stick urns outside my bf's house. That thief did not steal one or two, he stole the whole block's one...!

This time it's my block's turn to have metal stolen... The thief did not steal those urns, drain covers and etc. Instead, they stole... the cover from the rubbish chute!

In case you don't know, newer HDB flats have a centralised rubbish chute for residents to throw their rubbish into. The centralised rubbish chute is usually located near a lift. I was very surprised when I saw the rubbish chute without a "cover" when I was taking the lift. My KPO dad and mum had recce the whole block and found out that the thief stole the entire block's rubbish chute "cover". I bet they work in a group or else how can they carry so many "covers"?

They very brave arh... Not scare that someone will catch them in the act...

Flagging Down a Cab?

I have been taking a fair bit of cab back home after work recently. Actually it's not really a lot lah just that it's been quite a long time since I take cab home from work. With the cab charging more and more nowadays, it makes it quite hard for me not to feel a pinch if I take cab home from my work place. Taking cab home from my office will cost me about $18+. I feel that it's kind of expensive so most of the time I will rather spend more time taking bus and mrt instead of taking cab.

As I have been working late for the past few days, by the time I am ready to go home, I will be feeling too tired to make myself spend 1.5 hours by bus and mrt to go home. Instead, I decided to spend more and take a cab home instead. It is lucky that I later found out from my HR and finance that I can claim cab fare if I work until so late. Phew~!

With my taking of the cab home for the past few days, I came to one conclusion... I wonder who are those people who are complaining of expensive cab fares? If they really think it is expensive, then why is it so hard for me to get a cab? I tried flagging a cab along Alexandra Road for the past few days and I think it's almost impossible to flag down a cab. Mind you, I am not trying to flag down a cab during peak hours. I was trying to flag down a cab at 10pm! I thought it will be easy to flag down a cab then since it is after the peak hours but I am obviously wrong. I have to end up calling a cab which is not easy too since it is almost impossible to get through the call a cab HOTline. That line is really HOT lor... I spent 30 mins trying to get through the line and get a cab. Grrr... The next day when I had to take a cab home again, I automatically called a cab instead of trying to flag one down... It's just too troublesome... After all, my company is paying... So why not? :P

Long Time No See A&W...

My bf bought back A&W for me when he cam back to Singapore from Batam on friday. Hee... Wah... How I missed the curly fries from A&W... Their waffles with ice cream... Yummy... Too bad he can't buy waffles with ice cream back from there. I have been missing their food ever since they closed their last A&W store... So sad...

I was carrying the bag of food from A&W while walking in Orchard when this guy came up to me...

Guy: Excuse me Miss...
Me: (Looking at him in surprise because I definitely don't know him at all) Yes?
Guy: Is that A&W?
Me: Ya...?
Guy: Where did you get it?! (With his face lit up like he saw gold)
Me: Batam...
Guy: O... ok... Thanks... (Looking utterly crestfallen)

I think he is really funny... His expressions changed so much within minutes... :P

Working Overtime

I have been working until quite late for the past few days. In case you don't know, my work RARELY requires me to work late. The lastest that I had gone home previously was at around 9 plus. That was around 3 years ago when I was just on board and I was still not very sure of what to do with my work. Since then for the rest of the 3 years, the latest I have gone home is probably around 7 plus ba...

I worked until 10pm last night and 8+ this evening. I think it's really tiring... Ya... This words are coming out from someone who rarely OT so of course she will find it tiring lah... Told you I rarely OT liao mah... :P Sometimes I find that there's no point working late for the sake of working late. So if I know the work can wait, I will usually go home at around 5.30pm and most of the time it is on the dot... :P

I have no idea why but when I have work, it is LOADS of it. To make it worse, everything is urgent... So now everyone are chasing after me for the results. I have something that US needs by next week so by hook or by crook, I have to send it out by tomorrow. I am working on something that I have been working on for the past one week plus and I am only halfway through it. My colleague was already asking about it... I'm drowning in my work soon... Someone help!!! Sian... Work week is left with 2 days for me next week because of the Deepavali holiday and also I will be on course. I have no idea how am I going to finish up my work...

I still wonder how lots of people are able to work until so late everyday and still be able to drag themselves up from bed each morning and appear at work fresh. 佩服!佩服!

I hope my prediction that I will be able to leave from work at 6 plus is correct... I need a break badly...

Christmas is coming...

In 2 months time... I am already starting to think of what gifts to prepare liao... I have an idea of what I am going to give to some of my friends for Christmas... Just wondering if I will be too lazy to get it... :P See how lah... See when will I have the time to get it... Or rather if I am not too lazy to get it... :D

Happy Birthday To Me...

Happy Birthday to Me! Today is my 25th birthday... Times flies really fast... It seems to me that I just spent my 21st Birthday and now I am 25 already...

It's kind of sad when I look back in my life so far that I have yet to achieve anything at all... At least nothing that I deem to be really exciting or so... I wished I can be like a good friend of mine who leads a very adventurous life, travelling around the world whenever he has the opportunity. I wished I am like others who earns big bucks... I wished I am skinner (Fat hope)... There are so many things that I wished for...

So for my 25th Birthday wish, I wish all my dreams will come true... Most importantly, I wish that my family especially my parents will be healthy and lived to a long age happily... :D

Gold Digger

I read this from a forum that I frequent. Apparently this gold digger advertise herself in a website called Craigslist looking for gold mines to dig. I think the replies to Miss Gold Digger is really funny but quite true also... :P Have a good laugh. And yet.. I do believe this kind of people exist...

From Miss Gold Digger:
What am I doing wrong? Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all. Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 250,000 won't get me to central park west. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she's not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level? Here are my questions specifically: - Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms -What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won't hurt my feelings -Is there an age range I should be targeting (I'm 25)? - Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What's the story there? - Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out? - How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I'm being up front about it. I wouldn't be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn't able to match them - in looks, culture, sophistication, and keeping a nice home and hearth.

Reply #1:
THE ANSWER Dear Pers-431649184: I read your posting with great interest and have thought meaningfully about your dilemma. I offer the following analysis of your predicament. Firstly, I'm not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your bill; that is I make more than $500K per year. That said here's how I see it. Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a cr@ppy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity...in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful! So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you! So in Wall Street terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy and hold...hence the rub...marriage. It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease. In case you think I'm being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It's as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage. Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So, I wonder why a girl as "articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful" as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard to believe that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the $500K hasn't found you, if not only for a tryout. By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then we wouldn't need to have this difficult conversation. With all that said, I must say you're going about it the right way. Classic "pump and dump." I hope this is helpful, and if you want to enter into some sort of lease, let me know.

Reply #2:
MY ADVICE: Dear Pers-431649184: I also came across your posting with great interest. I am a 28 year old Wall Street trader who qualifies as an eligible suitor under your $500k/yr rule. In fact, I make over a million and can usher a woman into a comfortable, true middle class lifestyle (not like those 500k lower-middle class chumps who have to make do with the junior two-bedroom). I am sympathetic to your goal in finding a rich man to marry. The milk needs to be sold by the expiration date. But since this is premium milk, why would you settle for less than premium prices? I would like to address some of the questions that were previously missed by the other gentleman and provide constructive advice on where to find your match. I also do believe in the efficient market theory, and am surprised that $500k hasn't found you yet. There are plenty of rich lawyers, investment bankers and hedgies to go around in this city. What gives? I think the problem might be that you have not been sufficiently focused in your search efforts. The culprit, I believe, may be that you are also looking for qualities aside from money - such as looks, personality, and a sense of humor. However, men who have those qualities learn at an early age that they do not need money to attract quality women. As the saying goes, if you can get the milk for free, why pay up for the cow? What you need to look for is someone who is long money, and short the other aspects. They are not easy to spot, since you are biologically wired to overlook and ignore them. However, the next time that you are at a expensive black tie event, and you are introduced to the short, bald, overweight man who fidgets nervously whilst making conversation with you, pay special attention to him. Here's an inspirational story for you. An acquaintance of mine who was also an classy and articulate woman as yourself was able to land that guy - who also happens to be one of the top ten guys at Google. This is the type of stuff that gold-digging moms read to their gold-digging daughters at bedtime. Perhaps you need to make a location change to Silicon Valley - miracles like these happen almost everyday in a land where you can randomly throw a rock and hit a rich nerd squarely in his Kim-jong Il glasses. And as far as his deficiencies go, they turned out to be not so bad. With hundreds of millions in the bank, she's been able to clean him up and give him a little sophistication. Think of it as a fixer-upper project with a massive budget (and yourself as a visionary real estate developer!). Although, I must warn you, it is a fine line you are flirting with - you must not overdo it lest he begins to attract younger women who are hotter than yourself. The trick is, you need build him up enough to be presentable, while simultaneously manipulate him into believing you are the best that he will ever do! That, botox and having kids will be your insurance against your depreciation (or as I prefer to use the term, milk going sour). I wish the best of luck on your sales project. As for me, I am also available for a short-term lease. However, for marriage I wouldn't consider a woman unless she can bring beauty, brains and self-motivation to the table. I do not want to dilute my gene pool and end up raising a bunch of Paris Hiltons.

Phoenix Wright : Justice for All

I have been hooked to this game called Phoenix Wright : Justice for All that can be played on Nintendo DS Lite. Great game I will say... It's a game that is based in a courtroom and basically your role in the game is as a lawyer who has to prove the innocence of your client. For those who has a Nintendo DS Lite, try getting the game and have fun playing it... :)

ANDRO® - Cream for Men

I'm kind of surprised to see this commercial airing in Singapore. After all Singapore is more or less known for its strict regulations on all forms of media. The advertisers must have done pretty much homework to go around the loopholes of the regulations just to promote their product. I guess it is considered as a successful commercial since it passed the regulations but yet is able to bring the message across on what the product it is advertising for.

Please give up your seat for the pregnant woman or elderly...

I have a colleague who is around 5 months pregnant. As she is rather small in size, her stomach did not really show until recently. It is understandable when people do not offer them their seat on the bus or MRT when her stomach is not really showing because they may not know that she is pregnant. However sometimes it's not the case of not knowing. It is more of the case of "I take it that I did not see anything. I just pretend I am sleeping until she gets off the train" kind of mentality. At times it really irks me to see that kind of attitude lor...

Take for example this evening when we were on our way home after work. She took a different train from me when we were going home. As her train arrived earlier than mine, so I was still waiting for my train on the platform after she board her train. I happened to look inside the MRT and saw her standing in front of a bunch of inconsiderate people. I can't help but messaged her the following: "Wah... Your stomach must be really small for those people sitting in front of you to think that it's a tummy and not that you are pregnant." I know these people do not owe those pregnant woman or elderly a seat on the MRT, but shouldn't they should be kind enough to offer them a seat if they can't find a seat? What if they fall on the MRT and anything happens to them? I wonder how will these people react if they hear me say out whatever I messaged my colleague. Will they even feel embarrassed?

I hope that people will have more empathy for others. Place yourself in the shoes of the pregnant woman or the elderly. Would you want to be treated the same way as how they are treated?

Forgotten Diary....

I was looking through my drawer for a spare notebook for my dad when I spotted this familiar looking book in a corner of my drawer. At first I thought it was one of the many unused notebooks I have lying around in my drawer, until I flipped it open and realised that it was my old diary...

I used to have the habit of writing diary when I was younger because I like to record down things that happened in my life. I know I have a terrible memory so writing diary is perhaps the best way for me to remember things that happened in my life...

I had totally forgot about that diary of mine... As in really forgot that I even have a diary before kind of thing... I decided to read through that diary of mine yesterday. It contained lots of memories of my ex bfs especially one particular one as I was with him when I wrote in that book. It made me remember how things used to be for the both of us even though things have changed so much since then...

I guess keeping diaries does serve a purpose after all. Maybe it's time for me to start writing again... In another book or maybe in another blog... About the things that I am not ready to share with others...

iSushi

Stumped upon this post in a forum about the sushi from iSushi. Their local flavour sushi looks kind of interesting but I don't think I will ever try them. I think I still prefer the authentic japanese sushi anytime...

Takoyaki

I think most of the people in Singapore would have tried Takoyaki before. It is actually octopus ball in a batter and taste great especially when it is still hot. The more famous shop selling it is most probably Takopachi. Other than octopus balls, they actually have other selections like prawns or bacon and cheese. It is quite weird especially to the Japanese as the word "tako" in takoyaki means octopus.

While my bf and I were in Japan, we went to Kappabashidougugai Dori. It is a street where they sell kitchenware, tables, chairs, basically anything that you will need in your kitchen and also for setting up a restaurant. We bought a takoyaki pan there and tried making our own takoyaki at home.

He found the receipe to make the batter online and tried making it... It is definitely not easy! Being the better cook amongst the two of us, so it's basically he make I look... Hee... Maybe I will try making it myself next time... :D

First failed attempt...

Secind attempt... Looks and taste much better

"Souvenir" from Japan

I brought back along with me a "souvenir" from Japan... Nothing fantastic. In fact, I will be happier without bringing it back with me...

My heat rashes compliments from the very hot weather in Japan

Wah liao... Feeling super itchy now... Grrr...

eejanaika ええじゃないか

We saw this roller coaster ride in Fujikyu Highland, Japan. After trying Dodonpa and Fujiyama, my bf and I decided that we are too chicken to try this ride out. Will you dare to try it?

This is a USB toy called Humping Dog. I took this video when I was in Akihabara of Tokyo, Japan.

Some pictures from Japan

Rainbow Bridge

Tokyo Disneyland

I wonder why is it called Tokyo Disneyland when it is not located in Tokyo.

Fujiyama in Fuji-Q Highlands

It was once the world's tallest roller coaster. The ride up there is scary even though I don't mind going up there again.

Yokohama Bay Bridge

We took this picture on top of Landmark Tower which is the tallest building in Japan.

We bought this Takoyaki in Ikebukuro of Tokyo, Japan. Its diameter is almost as long as Japan's Suica which is something like Singapore's ezlink card.

I'm back from Japan!

Ohaiyo~! I came back to Singapore this evening... Even though I am sad to leave Japan and need to go back to work again on Monday, I am still happy to be back in Singapore because of the weather! If you think Singapore is hot, try visiting Japan now... I think the weather in Japan is really terrible... It's so super duper hot over there now that a fan and a towel became my best companion alongside with my bf. These two things practically save me throughout my trip in Japan.

I got the fan free from the streets and bought the face towel from Disneyland. It's so hot in Japan that I perspire once I step out into the streets in Japan. I can finally understand why is it that most Japanese will have a towel or handkerchief with them whenever they go out. It's because tissue paper are just not enough to wipe off all the perspiration that keep coming...!

I know why most Japanese are skinny liao... I was in Japan for 8D7N and the thing I noticed is that most of the are skinny.... Both men and women.... I think I know why liao... It must be because there are so few escalators available everywhere compared to Singapore. I can't remember when was the last time that I need to climb the stairs up and down to change train or go from one place to another. Japan really makes me climb the stairs. Some of their escalators actually starts "working" only after 7am. Imagine my horror when I need to carry my 20kg luggage up the stairs... I managed to lug it up a few steps but my bf had to "save" me in the end. With that amount of exercise they do, it's no wonder that they are so skinny...

I shall update on my trip after I sort out all my photos...

Packing my luggage...

Hee... I have been looking forward to travel again after my last trip to Thailand two years ago... Now I am going to do that! I'm happily packing my luggage now because I am on leave today... I will be leaving tomorrow morning for... Tokyo! :D I will be bringing my laptop along with me so I will update about my trip when I am in Japan if I get the chance... :D

Modem up in the heaven!

My modem which is usually on 24/7 finally decided to give up on us and go to heaven... I think it finally can't take the abuse it had been tolerating from us so it chose to break down on Wednesday...

The day when it died on us was terrible... My sister, dad and me were staring at it, trying to switch it on again and again hoping that it was playing a prank on us. We tried to revive it but in vain. It was finally pronounced dead after I checked on it for many times.

Life without internet around the house is soooo... boring... I was at lost about what to do at home... It also made me realise how internet or rather technology-dependant I had become over the years. Luckily my brother got home from Phuket today and he fixed a new modem so I can finally come online again! Yippee... :D

Finally finished the book

I have finally finished the last book of the whole Harry Potter series... It took me a few days to finish it as it's not in the usual format... :P I think I still prefer to read it in the book format anytime...

It's so sad to see some of the characters die... I quite like some of those died... No wonder they had the helpline. But it's still only a story what... What must the kids get so upset about it?

After reading the book the first thing that comes to my mind is... Now I can visit forums without being scare of seeing any spoilers anymore... :D

Anyway, I still think J.K. Rowling is great at writing books. Very captivating... Anyone who have not read Harry Potter yet ought to do so... It's not a book that only kids can read... :)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The last book of Harry Potter aka Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is finally out! The long wait for the book is finally over. I have yet to buy the book and read it, but I do hope that it is good.

I heard that the ending is quite sad because some of the main characters in the book are death. It got so bad that UK had to set up a helpline to help those people who will be devastated. Win liao... got so jialat mah?

Yummy? See if you still dare to eat it!

For as long as I remember, White Rabbit Sweet has always been one of my favorite sweet. I am always happy to accept an offer for White Rabbit Sweet until now...

Philippines had banned the import of White Rabbit Sweet because it was said that they contain formaldehyde. Singapore AVA tested and said that although it does contain minute amount of formaldehyde, it could be due to its natural occurrence in the ingredients used for making the products.

Heng my body does not contain as much formaldehyde as I think. Or else in future after I die, my kids maybe left wondering how come my body won't rot... As for eating White Rabbit Sweet in the future? I am having some second thoughts now... Food that comes from China do not seem to be very safe nowadays.

Tree branches fell on top of taxi

I went down to Orchard Road to meet my bf after my work just now. I was on the bus and as usual the traffic after office hours was horrible. I thought it was the usual peak hour traffic that cuase the bus to be stuck on Tanglin Road for quite sometime. It was only when people started to get off the bus when I realised that there must be something wrong.

I walked to the front of the bus and saw a taxi on the other side of the road "crushed" by some tree branches. The tree branches were all over the roads thus vehicles were unable to pass through. This caused the bus that I was on to be stuck in the traffic. I decided to get off the bus and see if there is any other way that I can get to Orchard as there is no guarentee how long I will be stuck in the traffic if I am to wait.

After I got off the bus I passed by the taxi which was struck by the tree branches. It had a huge dent on top of its roof. Hope the taxi driver is ok. I think the taxi driver is going to have a huge headache about the car repairs...

Congrats to my brother...

My Brother tied the knot with his gf of 1 yr plus on 07 July 2007. They held their solemnisation at Peninsula Excelsior Hotel and invited only a few of their relatives and friends. They are not holding their customary and wedding dinner yet... Who knows... Maybe they will go through their customary and forego the wedding dinner

Anyway... Welcome to my new family member... :)

The day when there's no more coffee in my office...

Thunder and lighting strikes in my office today...

I was in the pantry this afternoon getting some water after lunch. My colleague was making a cup of coffee for himself as he wanted to prevent himself from falling asleep in front of his laptop after a heavy lunch.

It was while he was brewing his coffee using the mini espresso machine when I realised that there's no more coffee powder in the office anymore! No more coffee powder means no more brewing of coffee using the mini espresso machine or coffee machine. I told my colleague "Ai yah... Never mind lah... No more coffee powder then drink Cafe 21 lor... Cafe 21 quite nice also mah..." "There's only one last packet of Cafe 21 left in the office." He informed me while he was walking out of the pantry. *Thunder and lightning*

Cham liao... How do we survive the day tomorrow without any coffee in the office?!

Season of Durian is here again!

It's the season to eat durians... lah lah lah lah lah... lah lah lah... Even though durians are available almost the whole year round nowadays, durians still taste the best during the period of June and July.

I have been craving to eat durians so together with some friends, my bf and I decided to head over to Geylang to satisfy my cravings... Hee... We went to our usual place to eat durians. The shop is importing truck loads of durians!

Maybe because this is the durians season, the durians are exceptionally delicious! We tried a few pricing of durians. 3 for $10, 1 for $5 and even 1 for $0.50. Other than the 1 for $0.50 not tasting so nice, the rest of the durians are very yummy! Talking about it now makes me feel like eating durians again... Drool...

The organs of the body were having a meeting, trying to decide who was in-charge. Each organ took a turn to speak up:

Brain : I should be in charge because I run all body functions.
Blood : I should be in charge because I circulate oxygen for the brain.
Stomach : I should be in charge because I process food to the brain.
Legs : I should be in charge because I take the brain where it wants to go.
Eyes : I should be in charge because I let the brain see where it's going.
Asshole : I should be in charge because I get rid of your waste.

All the other parts laughed so hard and this made the asshole very mad.To prove his point, the asshole immediately slammed tightly closed and stayed that way for 6 days, refusing to rid the body of any waste whatsoever.

Day 1 - Brain got a terrible headache and cried out for relief
Day 2 - Stomach got bloated and began to ache terribly
Day 3 - Legs got cramps and became unstable
Day 4 - Eyes became watery and vision became blurred
Day 5- Blood became toxic and poisoned the body
Day 6 -The other organs agreed to let the asshole be in charge.

MORAL OF THE STORY: "NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, OR HOW IMPORTANT YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU WILL FIND THAT IT IS ALWAYS THE ASSHOLE THAT IS INCHARGE".........

The Return of the Rubber Duckies...

The Great Singapore Duck Race is back! It's been a few years since they last held it. This year may be the last year that it is going to be hold in Singapore because according to the news, there are talks of Singapore River being converted into a reservoir. So what are you waiting for? Adopt your duckie quick. If not you may not have the chance to do it again anymore! ;)

I got rejected again!

I received an email from SIM about RMIT rejecting my appeal AGAIN! I appealed before and they rejected my appeal stating that they find that my working experience is too short. This time round, they did not give me any reason just saying that they still want me to take the 2 years course instead of 1.5 years course.

Frankly lah, I am pretty upset about it. But there is nothing that SIM can do for me anymore because the decision was made by RMIT. Wah liao... Don't they understand? Not everyone had money drop from the sky to pay their school fees lor... Half a year more of studies means at least $4000+ more in school fees lor... So in the end I have decided not to study in RMIT this coming July. Nope, I'm not going to take the 2 years course...

I shall take sometime to look out for other course to study. Maybe I will go apply for their scholarship. If they really give me, then I will definitely go there study no matter whether it is a 2 years course or a 1.5 years course... :P

Rice Dumpling from Crystal Jade

Nice packaging from Crystal Jade to contain their rice dumpling...

包粽子

粽子 aka Rice dumpling is usually eaten during 端午節. My mum usually likes to wrap the rice dumplings a few days before 端午節 arrives so as to give her more time. I tried to help her wrap the rice dumplings yesterday and I failed terribly in the task... :'(

Wrapping the rice dumplings seems easy from the looks of it but it's not lor... Or maybe I'm just not good in this kind of cooking or kitchen stuff ba... I did not even manage to successfully wrap a single rice dumpling because I just can't seem to be able to get the "shape" of the rice dumpling. :( I gave up eventually because I seem to 越帮越忙. My mum told me to practise wrapping the dumplings using sand before I come back and help her wrap next year. Hai... Never mind lah... I shall make a comeback next year... :D

Geek Terminal

I finally get the chance to visit the Geek Terminal with the JR gang (minus Brian) today. I first know about Geek Terminal from dk's blog quite sometime ago and know that he goes there quite often. I am probably the only one from the JR gang who has not been there yet lor... Not wanting to be a mountain tortoise for too long, I suggested that we meet up for dinner there so that I can go there and look look see see... :P

Geek Terminal is really a place for the geeks lor... You can see "tech-ie" things all over the place. The staff there are all quite friendly and was talking to us about the place, the things that they have over there and about the food they serve. They serve quite nice food there and maybe because they open only recently, they came over to our table asking for our opinion about their food. From what I know, they have been constantly improving their food ever since they start the place. They are quite receptive to other people's opinions because I made some comment about one of the drinks and they managed to come up with a modified version of the drink and let us try. I will say that the modified drink taste better than the original one. :)

I don't mind visiting them again another time. With the service and all, why not? :)

Job hop after 4 years of work...?

I have been working in my current company for around 3 years. Although I have been working there for so long, I don't really interact with all my colleagues mainly because we do not work together or because I seldom see them in the office due to their frequent travels.

I was talking to my colleague whom I seldom really talk to when he was giving me a lift home. I do talk to him lah... Just not those in depth talk... He was telling me that it is time for a person to move on to a new area of work or a new company if they are doing the same job for 4 years.

He quoted me with an example that when his previous company was thinking of doing retrenchments, the consultants that they brought in first listed that the first group of people whom they should retrench are people who are above 45 years old and have been doing the same job for over 5 years. The second group of people whom they should look into retrenching are those who have been doing the same job for over 5 years. The reason being that these 2 groups of people are actually getting "expensive" for the job that they are doing as they are doing the same job and it is sort of getting "routined" to them. It does not bring much benefit to the company if they get their annual increment every year doing the same thing when the company will be able to hire new staff to do the same job at probably a lower pay.

I do recalled my lecturer in polytechnic telling me before that we should only stay on to our first job for only 3 to 4 years. If we stay too long there, we will be so comfortable of what we are doing that we will not want to leave our comfort zone. For me, I think likewise but I feel that it is also time for me to learn new things at another place. We do not need to change to another company, but we can look out for other openings in our company and work in another field.

I do not mind staying in my current company for long but I will want to work in another area. For me, I know that I do not want to stay in the laboratory forever. This is probably one of the reason that I took up my Advanced Diploma in Strategic Marketing in the first place. I do have plans to look into doing some marketing in the future but after I obtained my degree. For now, my current company will be able to provide me with an excellent environment for studying as I can leave my company on time. Now that my plans for studying may have to be shelved for sometime, maybe it's time for me to think of the future plans for my work...

Shashlik Restaurant

I went for dinner with my colleague in a Russian restuarant called Shaslik just now. The decoration there reminds me of the restaurants in the olden days so it can be quite "retro" for some people.

I tried the Shashlik beef which is actually shish kebab. Although they do not serve it with any sauce like the Angus steak that I am so in love with, it is surprisingly good. Of course I will still prefer the steak in Angus anytime but the price of Shashlik beef is also half of what Angus will cost me! The portion of the beef is not very big but enough to make me full. They served it together with some papaya, cucumbers, tomatoes, spring onions, salad and etc... I don't really like those sides so I left them untouched.

Shashlik Beef

My colleague passed me some of her Shashlik lamb to try and I must say I think I prefer the lamb to my beef. Although the lamb has a bit of 羊骚味 but it is not strong enough to put me off the dish. Coupled with the mint jelly, I think it taste great!

Overall, I think it is another can-try restaurant. Russian food anyone? ;)

Studying plans on halt? Hope not...

I received letter from SIM accepting me for the part time degree in Business Management (Marketing) offered by RMIT. The course that they offered me was actually a 2 year course instead of the 1.5year course that I was thinking of enrolling into. I was actually rather puzzled why I am not accepted for the 1.5 year course so I wrote a letter to appeal to study for the 1.5 year course instead of the 2 year course.

The lady in charge of this called me a few days later saying that RMIT rejected my appeal as they said that they feel my working experience of 3 years are too short. I protested by saying that the terms that they listed are 3 to 5 years of working experience. If they think 3 years of working experience is too short then they should list the terms as more that 3 years of working experience and not 3 to 5 years of working experience!

Luckily the lady was quite kind and asked me to appeal again. She wanted me to write back stating my job responsibility and will help me to try and get into the 1.5 years course. I have wrote back to them and is now waiting for their reply. I may reconsider if I still want to take this course if I can't get into the 1.5 years course. I'm keeping my fingers cross now...

Hammie the Roborovski Hamster...

Hee... We finally decided to bring home the hamster which we fell in love with yesterday... It is a female Roborovski Hamster. We decided to name her Hammie after the Hammie in Over the Hedge. :P Hammie is extremely active and is forever trying to escape from the little box that the pet shop people placed it in. She is just so adorable... I will try to take some pictures of her and upload online if I can... :D

Update: Just uploaded a picture of Hammie sleeping... she looks so cute... :P

This is what happens when a smaller frog keep infuriating a bigger frog...

by climbing on top of him...

It's amazing that the smaller frog survived the ordeal is still alive and kicking now... But it is still as stupid as it still keeps trying to climb on top of the bigger frog...

Hamster

I met my bf at Vivocity just now after my work. As we were rather bored so we dropped by the Pet Safari and take a look at the little animals they are selling there. I like that cute little hamster running on the wheel immediately after I laid my eyes on. It is probably the first animal that I am thinking of giving a home...

It looks just so adorable... It was happily running on the wheel while the other hamsters are busy sleeping around... This shows that it is definitely an active hamster. It has very big eyes and looks so innocent when it looked up at me... So cute... I thought it looks like Hammie from the annimation "Over the Hedge" with it's huge innocent looking eyes. Hee...

We decided to consider a while more before deciding if we really want to bring it home... Decision decision... :P

I've got a new haircut!

I just got myself a new haircut this evening... I mean haircut and not hair trim (or trim my hair)... There's a difference you know? :P I usually only trim my hair but this time it's different... I cut my hair short... Not those tom boy hair cut style lah... It's longer... But I don't remember having such short hair for a very long time leh... In fact it's years since my hair is so short... The last time I had such short hair was most probably in secondary school?

Actually I have been wanting to cut my hair short for dunno how long liao... But due to heavy objections from everyone, I did not do so lor... :( The hair stylist actually wanted to let my hair be slightly longer but dunno how come cut until so short... Plus the fact that my hair curls so it now looks shorter than it is... Not that I mind though... :P So don't be surprise the next time you see me... :D

200 Pounds Beauty - Beautiful Girl

I finally get to watch 200 Pounds Beauty this afternoon. For some reason I have not been able to catch the show when it was showing in the cinemas so I can only wait until the DVD is out before I can buy it and watch. I think the show is good... Quite funny but yet touching... For those who have yet to watch, you can get the DVD from the stores now. :)

Mellben Seafood

I went to the "restaurant" in AMK that sells the famous 螃蟹米粉 for dinner with my bf and his family yesterday... We reached there at around 6.30 pm and the coffeeshop was already full house and there was already a quene outside while the customers waited for a table. According to the boss of Mellben Seafood, their store opens at around 5pm and people actually started queneing at around 4 plus. WOW...

We ordered several dishes like 麦片虾, 一品锅, 荷叶排骨, 菜圃鱼 and etc and of course we would miss out the 奶油螃蟹. Like the 砂锅螃蟹米粉, the 奶油螃蟹 is another 招牌菜 of the restaurant. I quite like the 奶油螃蟹... Yummy... I like the 荷叶排骨 and 菜圃鱼 but I am not very impressed with the rest of the other dishes. I think the 煮炒 store at the coffeeshop near my house has better dishes... So if anyone is dying to try out the food in the restaurant, it's enough to try out the crab dishes.. Don't put too much hope in their other dishes...

Julian Beever at work

Julian Beever aka Pavement Picasso

I know most people will know about this by now lah... But I just wanna blog about it... Pavement Picasson Julian Beever was invited by Nokia a few weeks ago to leave his mark in Singapore... I purposely went down to Raffles City to have a look at his pavement drawing... There's nothing more I can say than "O my... I can't believe I'm seeing this myself..." when I saw his drawing. I never thought I will be able to see it in person especially when I saw so many of his drawings from those email circulations... I think it's a remarkable piece of drawing... He actually made a note on the floor saying that the effect of this drawing is best seen in camera or print out... For those who has yet to see this, hurry down before you miss the chance of seeing it yourself...

Online ordering of Dunkin Donuts

I mentioned about the doughnut craze that hit Singapore before. Now for those who people who love doughnuts, you can now order them online! I got to know about them through SPUG OTC forum. The people who set up the online doughnut store claimed that the doughnuts are from Dunkin Donuts lah... But who knows whether they are real or not since they do not have an actual shop location. Some people suspect them to be bought from the Dunkin Donuts in Malaysia... They operate solely online and you will need to collect the doughnuts from specific places unless you order doughnuts worth of $105 and above.

I read that some people say it taste better than those from Doughnut Factory cos they are not so oily. I don't think anyone cares if they are selling authentic Dunkin Donuts so long as they taste great.

SPUG is back..

I used to frequent the Off Topic Chat of SPUG's forum last time but the forum was down due to some server or hardware problem I think. Even though they did have a temporary forum in place but for some reason I don't really like it there. Maybe that's why I seldom frequent that forum anymore.

I was quite bored in office today so I decided to pop by SPUG temporary forum to see if there's any interesting things ard. To my surprise, the old forum was revived already! Seems that they just managed to get everything get into place on thursday... Glad to see it back... Things still feel better in the old place...

Eat With Your Family Day

According to the newspapers, today is the so-called "Eat with Your Family Day". This is the fifth year that they are having this event liao... Supposed to encourage families to make it a ritual to dine together, as a way of promoting more open dialogue between young and old and of forging a greater understanding between family members.

But hor... frankly lah... maybe I seldom read the newspapers or what... This is actually the first time I heard about this "day"... Is it I swa gu or is it that the event is simply super not very successful?

Graduation Ceremony? Not for me...

I just realised a few days ago that today is that Graduation Ceremony for the completion of my Advance Diploma in Singapore Polytechnic. I doubt I will even know that today is THE day if my classmates from my Advance Diploma did not email me and ask if I want to meet up with the rest to collect our certificate together.

I vaguely remember receiving a letter from SP a few months ago wanting me to confirm my attendance for the ceremony. I don't even need to consider before telling them that I'm out of it. For one, I know most of my classmates won't be bothered to attend it. For two... SP actually came up with their own graduation attire and frankly lor... I think it looks damn ugly... I definitely do not want to be caught dead in that attire...

Jogging for the first time in dunno how many months

I went for a jog today! Hee... Surprise surprise... :P Ok lah... Didn't jog very far... Just 3 small rounds in a small park near my place but it's better than nothing right? It's a start mah... :)

The following is the response I got from various people when I told them I'm going jogging...

Me: I'm going for a jog now ok? Call you after I get home.
My Bf: Don't go jogging now ok? I bring you to see doctor tomorrow.
Me: I want to go jogging now...
My Bf: Don't go lah... I let the doctor check to see if there's anything wrong with you. You having fever issit?
Me: Grrr.... I say I want go jogging doesn't mean I'm crazy lor...
My Bf: *laughter*

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me: Mum... I'm going jogging now...
Mum: Jogging? Don't go lah... So late liao... So dangerous... Why you don't go when your sis is at home? At least go with a partner mah.... *and continues rattling on...*
Me: Mum... It's brightly lit there... I'm only going there to jog... (while trying to describe the place to herand slowly giving up trying to convince her)
Mum: Brightly lit? It's not safe lah...
Brother: The place is quite brightly lit lah...
Mum: You all talking about the place where Seagate is building a new factory right? (Appears that she doesn't know where we are talking about all along)
Brother: No... It's that that that place...
Mum: O... *wants to continue rattling on again*
Dad: okok... go go go...

What is Love?

Sometimes I really wonder what is love? Why is it that it can make some people do somethings that you will never expect from them even though they are supposed to be at a so-called old-enough-to-think kinda age?

I have a colleague whom I heard had an affair with another married guy. I do not deny that whatever I knew about it is all from other sources, but they are from reliable sources. She is not that young girl who fell in love for the first time. She is a married woman with a kid who is almost 3 years old but yet she had an affair with another married guy who also has a kid himself.

One will think that she should be old enough to know what is right or rather what she should or shouldn't do. It is very saddening for us to know that she carried on the affair with that man for almost 6 to 8 months and even moved out of her house for a few months and lived with that man. She was prepared to divorce her husband if not for the fact that she later learned that that man had no intention to divorce his wife and marry her.

I heard that she had quit her job recently but she has yet to tell us about it. To think we had our lunch together every day and yet she still did not tell us. I wonder when will she finally tell us about it. Hopefully she will not wait until her last day then let us know... I can only wait and see...

Free ringtone???

I came across this while I was looking for a ringtone. I still don't understand why is this considered as FREE ringtone when one will be billed at S$9.98 weekly by signing up for the service. Did I miss something?

The trend is starting...

Wah... The trend of getting married is starting (amongst my friends who are around the same age as me) liao... I was informed by my good friend from my secondary school that she will be registering her marriage with her bf this September. Actually she intended to hold her wedding dinner next May but in the end her bf and her decided to save the money and just solemnise their marriage.

I can feel red bombs throwing towards my direction liao... Scarey...

Studying

I have already decided to get myself enrolled in RMIT Degree in Business Management majoring in Marketing which starts this coming July. That is provided that I can get into the course lah cos hor... I have yet to send in my application even though the date due is on 30 April... Hee... I'm short of a passport size photo and I cant take it not with my pimple outbreak! I will need to think of a way out. Just in case my pimple do not heal in time for me to take the photo... Hee...

R&R

I think it feels great to be able to relax at home once in a while. I was home the whole Saturday afternoon and will not have gone out if Kelvin they all never asked me out... I was kinda lazy but yet I dun feel like staying home too. Maybe that's why I decided to join them when they asked me out... Maybe the offer is to tempting... Eat durians, movies followed by ktv...

We had the durians in Geylang... Quite nice wor... and it's cheap... $5 for one durian... After eating durian we went to 揾到食 to da bao their 叉烧包 which we smuggled inside cinema as our dinner... hee... We caught Nightmare Detective. The show is... ok... Not a die-die must watch kinda movie. So unless you have money to spare then you can forget about it I guess... :P

After movies we proceeded to a KTV in Chinatown... It's called Ten Dollars KTV because they only charge you $10++ per person. After adding all the other miscellaneous charges, we end up paying like $12 per person. That's considered real cheap for a Saturday night lor... They even serve everyone a bowl of shark fin soup each... But I don't really like their system for selecting the songs. Kinda hard to get used to. Still like KBox and Party World more but I guess it's those you get what you pay for kinda thing... Still it's not too bad... Nice room and all... I may go there again another time.... We shall see... :)

Ma Maison

I went to Ma Maison for dinner with my bf just now. This is not the first time we tried to go there for dinner. In fact, the first time we wanted to go there for dinner but failed, was due to the restaurant being full housed and we had to wait. In the end we had to go Billy Bombers for dinner. I am definitely glad that we decided to wait for a seat today instead of heading somewhere else for dinner again....

Entrance of Ma Maison

Interior of Ma Maison

Ma Maison has quite a cozy ambience. I quite like it... The decoration in the restaurant was kinda ang mo but they serves very nice japanese style food! We had Escargots with garlic butter, clam chowder soup, Tonkatsu curry rice, Japanese Curry Udon in Korean Stone Bowl and Brownie with ice cream...
