Effects of Caffeine

Caffeine has effects on some people making them stay awake whether they like it or not. For some people, caffeine affects them greatly cost they can lose an entire nite of sleep just because they drank a few sips of ice lemon tea or coffee just a few hours before sleep.

Sad to say... caffeine doesn't work on me... AT ALL... I went to Starbucks at 9+ for a cup of Java Chip Frappuccino and I napped on the mrt when I was on my way home at 11... This is how much effects caffeine has on me... Some people may think it's good cos I dun have to worry about losing sleep and having to refrain from drinking certain beverages at nite but it's not very good also... At least when I need to stay up and study, I can't depend on a cup of coffee to keep me awake... So sad... :'(

做贼心虚?

A few weeks ago I got back into contact with a guy I had lost contact with for quite some time. He was the one who msned me asking me who am I cos he finds my name rather familiar but he can't remember where he knew me from and how. After chatting for sometime, he finally remembered how and where he saw me before. It's quite ok to me cos we were not very close friends and it was nice catching up with him about what happened after we lost touch.

However, today I received a msn msg him again asking me who am I. I was actually rather puzzled why is he asking me the same question when both of us were just chatting online the other day. Then I begin to realise that the tone used when asking me who am I was very different from how he talked to me that day. I'm starting to wonder if it's his wife who saw my name on his msn and wants to question me who am I and how we got to know each other. I started asking her who is 'he' and saying that he shouldn't be asking me who am I when he just asked me that a few weeks ago. 'He' just gave me a haste reply saying that 'he' forgot and persisted in me giving him an answer. Fed up, I just told 'him' that I dun think 'he' is who 'he' claims himself to be. After that he just stopped replying... Is this a case of 做贼心虚?

Of Shoes and of Shopping

I've been buying quite a few pairs of shoes recently. In fact, the total no of pairs of shoes I bought within this 2 or 3 months may be equivalent to the total no of pairs of shoes I owned at any time. I used to own at most 2 or maybe 3 pairs of shoes at the same time but now... I think 2 or 3 is more of the no of pairs of shoes that I bought which has yet to 开张. :P Quite a big change hor?

I think there's a need for me to cut down on my shopping too cos I have been spending quite a bit on shopping too... Maybe I should stop myself from buying those things that I know I dun need or I know even if I buy I also wun use so frequently... Must cut down... At least this is what I'm trying to do... :P

蓬莱阁

I went to 蓬莱阁 with my bf and his friends on Friday nite for a very late dinner. My bf and I were intending to go Katong to eat laksa but somehow or other, we ended up at 逢莱阁 for dinner instead.

蓬莱阁 is an Taiwanese eatery open by a Taiwanese and is supposed to serve authentic Taiwanese food fare. This was the second time I went there. I think the food there is quite ok. We had 黑砖奶茶 , 卤肉饭 , 盐酥鸡 and 臭豆腐! I quite like the 黑砖奶茶. At least it taste much better than those you find outside. The 卤肉饭 tastes quite nice and so does the 盐酥鸡. But I think the highlight of the mean is the 臭豆腐! :P The 臭豆腐 is not really very smell. It just taste... different. It taste more smelly than the last time I tried it. But I think it doesn't taste as bad as how I used to imagine it to be. Maybe if I am adventurous enough, I will try it if I ever go to Hong Kong or Taiwan.

Tremors in Singapore

Tremors can be felt across Singapore due to the earthquake from Indonesia. Did you all feel it also? I din but some of my colleagues in my office felt it. At time time we still did not know that Indonesia had another earthquake which caused Singapore to feel the tremors. My MD and some of my colleagues thought it maybe an earthquake in Singapore or something is wrong with our building.

My HR called the building management who told us that it maybe the crane that is working at the roof top moving that's causing the tremors. I was like "What?!" There's still one more level above my company before it is the rooftop lor... The crane must be super heavy duty for us to feel its movement from 2 levels down lor... Next time the building management better check before they give us this kind of stupid reason... Or else they will really make me believe that a crane can fight with earthquake liao... :P

300

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, "300" is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy.

I joined a contest and won 2 tickets to go 300's gala premire yesterday. Not bad considering that it comes with tickets, popcorn, drinks and also a goodie bag. Nothing much inside the goodie bag other than a poster.

I quite enjoyed the show and think it's a movie that is worth for people to pay and watch. I will enjoy the whole thing more if I wasn't stuck in Shaw House carpark to get out of there. We finished the movie at 11.30pm and only managed to get out fr there at 12+ due to the long quene of cars trying to leave Shaw House too. I end up reaching home only at ard 1am...

Tip: Next time don't park ur car in the carpark in Shaw House if you are watching a movie. You will surely regret it...

捞鱼生

My family and I decided to 捞 our 鱼生 on the last day of Chinese New Year. From what I can remember, this is the first time that we 捞鱼生 together. Never tried doing it before at home or anywhere else with my whole family. I will say it's quite fun and nan de that we have a chance to 捞鱼生 together. Too bad my brother did not join us. Never mind... there's still other chances in the future.
