Life is full of surprises...

A friend of mine told me something that I totally did not expect last night while we were chatting on MSN. What lingers on my mind after the talk is that Life is full of surprises. Somethings that you think is impossible may be possible after all. All you need to do is to try and you may be surprised by the outcome.

I wonder what will happen if I tried then... Things will be so different from what it is now. Even though things are working out pretty well for me now, I can't help but wonder how life will be if I did things differently then...

Which Path to Take...?

One of my colleague who is works as a Marketing Coordinator is leaving us for another job. So my HR sent out an email yesterday saying that they are intending to source for the someone internally to replace her. Of course they will still be looking for other candidates outside but I think they are hoping someone internally will be able to fill up the position.

Frankly, I was kind of surprised to hear this piece of news. From what I know, I have never hear my company looking for people internally to fill up a position for an associate. Managers yes, but as for associate level, they usually prefer to look outside. I heard from Sam that the main reason is because they seem to be having difficulties hiring a "satisfactory" candidate from outside. So they are thinking of having a change and source internally first.

I am interested in applying for the job. I had been thinking about whether to leave my company to pursue a career in Marketing for quite some time already. However, I am kind of hesitating over this too. I have an interest in doing lab work and also marketing which is why I went and took an Advanced Diploma in Strategic Marketing a few years back. The thing is, I enjoy doing what I am doing now but I do feel like trying out how it feels to work for another company or do something else as this is currently still my first job. I do know that if ever I intend to change job, no matter whether it is still in technical field or maybe to marketing field, I will definitely suffer a pay cut.

In a way the opening of this position is like a dream come true for me. If I apply for the marketing job and manage to get it, I will be doing something different and if I intend to continue working in this line, at least I will have some prior experience already. But I know I will definitely miss working in the lab. Especially when I have a good working relationship with my managers and my other colleague.

I am in a dilemma now. Think I will need to have a talk with my manager before I decide what I want to do. Let's see what advice he will give me even though I know ultimately, I am the only one who must make the last decision.

A Gathering with friends from Long Time Ago...

I met up with some ex-colleagues whom I got to know when I used to work part time in Breeks. We met up in St James for some drinks and bumped into another two ex-colleagues there. It has been quite sometime since I last saw them (excluding Freddy) after I quitted my job in Breeks. One of them couldn't recognise me while I couldn't recognise another one until someone pointed it out to me. It was... really like a gathering lor... :P

Somehow memories that I used to have working with them in Breeks just came back to me. It had been 6 years since I left Breeks. Maybe we were still young then but those times were really fun and I remember how I used to looking forward to working together with them. That was until all of them quitted one by one and eventually I was the only one left. After a while I left too because work was no longer as fun and I couldn't stand the way one of the managers there treated me.

Too bad everyone had gone their separate ways already but luckily we are still in contact with each other... Till the next gathering~! :)

Blogger template

As you all can see, I had just changed my blogger template but something seems to be not working. I am still looking for help to adjust some of the settings... Hope it will look fine soon... Or else I may have to change it to another template... But I quite like this template... We shall see how...

Next stop...

I am currently looking out for my next travel location. Don't really have any idea on where to go since I am limited by the very big factor $$$! I think my bf wants to go Australia but I think it is a little too expensive. Maybe we will end up going to either Korea or Taiwan. See how it goes... I am looking forward to my next holiday abroad... :D

Radio

I was looking around in Action City when I saw this radio that they are selling. I liked it so much that I just had to buy it even though I think it is a tad too pricey at $24.95 and I don't really have any need for it. Now it is sitting at my table and I make myself on the radio whenever I use my computer so that I will fully utilise it instead of letting it be a white elephant.

I told my sister that I bought a radio and she thinks that I am crazy when she heard the price tag it comes along with. However when she saw the radio, she asked me to help her buy one too. Hee...

I hate the wait...

I hate the wait... The waiting that I am talking about here is not those whereby I am supposed to meet up with someone at a certain place at a certain time but that person is not punctual. I am actually quite fine with it as I know I am not a very punctual person too. As long as you let me know beforehand that you will be late, I can just walk around or do something else while I wait for you. The wait that I am talking about is the time spent to wait for something to happen or maybe even something as simple as waiting for an answer.

Right now I am feeling terribly frustrated and impatient waiting for an answer... To the extent that I am feeling kind of pek cek... Maybe I care more than I should for something which I shouldn't...

Work Rant...

The past 2 weeks have been quite lousy for me because of training for one of my new colleague, Y. I have never in my entire work life almost flare up at anyone before. This is definitely the first time that I actually got so angry at work before... I tried to control but I could hardly do it so in the end, in midst of the training, I had to ask another colleague J, to help me take over while I went outside to the corridor to take a breather and make myself cool down. After trying my hardest to cool down, I went back into my office and my boss tried to talk to me about what happened. Apparently J told my boss about what happened as she could not stand the way Y was treating me. I had a talk with my boss and had to keep telling myself to bear with it as she will be leaving in 2 days time... I will not need to deal with her anymore after these 2 days...

The training this time round is really a test of my patience and tolerance... I'm glad she is finally gone and I hope I don't need to work with her anymore...
