Change of Admission Requirements

I mentioned before that I had been thinking of furthering my studies in Marketing and I had tried to apply for the course but was rejected twice when I appealed to taking the 1.5 years instead of 2 years course.

I went into SIM website looking up for scholarship information when I noticed the entry requirement has a slight change. A few months ago they rejected me from taking the 1.5 years course as they think my 3 years of working experience was too short even though the admission requirements stated was 3 to 5 years of working experience. This time round, I noticed that they had changed the admission requirements for the 1.5 years course to 5 years of working experience.

I wonder if it is because of my appeal that time. :P

Food Festival 2008

I went down to the Food Festival that was held in Suntec on Friday and today. The turnout for Friday is quite small but maybe it is because we went there only at 8+pm. The crowd for today was much bigger but not as big as I had imagined it to be for a Saturday.

My bf and I were buying and eating the food while we walked around the place. As usual, some of the food is quite nice but others are only so so... The only two food that left a lasting impression on me was the Black Sesame ice-cream and Honey Chicken chop.

The Black Sesame ice-cream from this company called YouCan. I think it's really yummy... Hee... We tried it yesterday and wanted to buy it home but as we had a movie to catch so we decided not to since we are sure the ice cream won't be able to last so long. :( Since my bf's family wanted to go there today so we finally bought some home. :D I was asking the Auntie if there's any discount for buying more since we are buying 12 ice creams in all and in the end she gave us a $0.40 discount and a free ice-cream! The discount is not a lot but at least I get a free ice-cream. :D Before we left the place, I went back and bought another 6 ice-cream and she gave me a free ice cream again. :D

The Honey Chicken Chop was those Taiwanese style chicken chop but just that it was not those crispy style. They added pepper and chicken powder on the chicken chop and cut it into smaller pieces before putting them into a paper bag with a few satay sticks for you to eat while on the go. Yummy...

One thing I just cannot understand was that there was so much smoke around the exihibition hall, with the smoke detectors around the place, how come the sprinklers did not start spraying water down? Did they deactivate the sprinkler system just for this event? Or are those not even working in the first place?

IT Show 2008

I went down to the IT Show with my bf this afternoon. As usual the IT Show had a really large crowd. We spent around 3 hours there and I got myself a Creative speaker for my laptop, a Sanyo rechargable batteries, a dynamo fan and some DVD-Rs. I think it was the first time when I went there and actually bought something. :P

Although I have not much use of the Dynamo fan, I bought one because I think it is a very interesting item. No batteries are required. All we have to do is wind it up and use it. I am using it now... It's quite cooling. :D

On Leave today! Again...

I took a day leave today so this means that I finally managed to clear all my leave from last year. From tomorrow onwards, whatever leave I am going to take will be from my leave for 2008.

I asked my bf to wake me up at 7.30 this morning as I was thinking of going for a morning jog. I woke up, look at the rainy weather and decided to go back to bed. After all, I am not ready to jog in the rain and the bed is there beckoning me. I just can't resist it... :D I slept all the way until noon and struggled to get out of bed. The cold weather is perfect for snuggling under my warm blanket. I had to drag myself up as I had to atend my driving lesson.

Driving is still not so bad today. Maybe because it is my second lesson so I think I am slightly better at handling the car. After my driving lesson, I took my Final Theory Test and passed! :D I booked my practical test date in July too. I hope I will be able to pass my driving at the first attempt.

I think everyone in Singapore should already know about the escape of Mas Selamat Kastari from the detention center. Remember to keep a lookout for him... He could be under any of these disguises...
