SPUG is back..

I used to frequent the Off Topic Chat of SPUG's forum last time but the forum was down due to some server or hardware problem I think. Even though they did have a temporary forum in place but for some reason I don't really like it there. Maybe that's why I seldom frequent that forum anymore.

I was quite bored in office today so I decided to pop by SPUG temporary forum to see if there's any interesting things ard. To my surprise, the old forum was revived already! Seems that they just managed to get everything get into place on thursday... Glad to see it back... Things still feel better in the old place...

Eat With Your Family Day

According to the newspapers, today is the so-called "Eat with Your Family Day". This is the fifth year that they are having this event liao... Supposed to encourage families to make it a ritual to dine together, as a way of promoting more open dialogue between young and old and of forging a greater understanding between family members.

But hor... frankly lah... maybe I seldom read the newspapers or what... This is actually the first time I heard about this "day"... Is it I swa gu or is it that the event is simply super not very successful?

SHE- 中国话 modification(台湾话)

Not sure if anyone heard about the controversy over SHE's new song 中国话. But people from Taiwan are definitely not very pleased with that song so they came up with their own version...

Graduation Ceremony? Not for me...

I just realised a few days ago that today is that Graduation Ceremony for the completion of my Advance Diploma in Singapore Polytechnic. I doubt I will even know that today is THE day if my classmates from my Advance Diploma did not email me and ask if I want to meet up with the rest to collect our certificate together.

I vaguely remember receiving a letter from SP a few months ago wanting me to confirm my attendance for the ceremony. I don't even need to consider before telling them that I'm out of it. For one, I know most of my classmates won't be bothered to attend it. For two... SP actually came up with their own graduation attire and frankly lor... I think it looks damn ugly... I definitely do not want to be caught dead in that attire...

Jogging for the first time in dunno how many months

I went for a jog today! Hee... Surprise surprise... :P Ok lah... Didn't jog very far... Just 3 small rounds in a small park near my place but it's better than nothing right? It's a start mah... :)

The following is the response I got from various people when I told them I'm going jogging...

Me: I'm going for a jog now ok? Call you after I get home.

My Bf: Don't go jogging now ok? I bring you to see doctor tomorrow.

Me: I want to go jogging now...

My Bf: Don't go lah... I let the doctor check to see if there's anything wrong with you. You having fever issit?

Me: Grrr.... I say I want go jogging doesn't mean I'm crazy lor...

My Bf: *laughter*

Mum: Jogging? Don't go lah... So late liao... So dangerous... Why you don't go when your sis is at home? At least go with a partner mah.... *and continues rattling on...*

Me: Mum... It's brightly lit there... I'm only going there to jog... (while trying to describe the place to herand slowly giving up trying to convince her)

Mum: Brightly lit? It's not safe lah...

Brother: The place is quite brightly lit lah...

Mum: You all talking about the place where Seagate is building a new factory right? (Appears that she doesn't know where we are talking about all along)

Brother: No... It's that that that place...

Mum: O... *wants to continue rattling on again*

Dad: okok... go go go...

What is Love?

Sometimes I really wonder what is love? Why is it that it can make some people do somethings that you will never expect from them even though they are supposed to be at a so-called old-enough-to-think kinda age?

I have a colleague whom I heard had an affair with another married guy. I do not deny that whatever I knew about it is all from other sources, but they are from reliable sources. She is not that young girl who fell in love for the first time. She is a married woman with a kid who is almost 3 years old but yet she had an affair with another married guy who also has a kid himself.

One will think that she should be old enough to know what is right or rather what she should or shouldn't do. It is very saddening for us to know that she carried on the affair with that man for almost 6 to 8 months and even moved out of her house for a few months and lived with that man. She was prepared to divorce her husband if not for the fact that she later learned that that man had no intention to divorce his wife and marry her.

I heard that she had quit her job recently but she has yet to tell us about it. To think we had our lunch together every day and yet she still did not tell us. I wonder when will she finally tell us about it. Hopefully she will not wait until her last day then let us know... I can only wait and see...
