Mid-Autumn Festival is Coming Soon!

Mooncakes is listed as one of my favourite food. So every year when Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, I will be a happy girl because that means I can have one of my favourite food again! Not that it is not available during other times of the year, but you can feel the festive spirit in the air whenever Mid-Autumn Festival is coming! :D You will see people going around sampling and buying mooncakes and hotels and restaurants will come up with different flavours of mooncake and try to outdo each other in terms of flavour, uniqueness and even packaging.

I purposely went and get some mooncakes today because I know most probably I won't have any chance to eat any mooncakes by the time I come back to Singapore. As I was kind of busy today and thus have no time to shop around, so I just bought a Traditionally Baked Black Sesame mooncake from Baker's Cottage when I saw their booth somewhere near the OG in Bugis. Later in the day when I was in Hougang Point, I bought a box of mixed Crispy Skin mooncakes from Garden Pastry. Their Crispy Skin Yam mooncakes are one of the better ones around. Their Crispy Skin D24 Durian mooncake is quite nice too... Yummy... :D Now I am more happy liao... Hee...

Yes, I know China will have loads of mooncakes for me to eat, but I am not exactly looking forward to mooncakes from China. Hmmm... See how lah... Maybe I will change my mind when I get there... :P

Packing for Shanghai...

I am now packing my luggage for my trip to Shanghai... I have 2 luggages at home, 1 is a 22" luggage while the other one is a 26" luggage. Initially before I start to pack my luggage, I was telling myself to bring the smaller luggage since I will most probably be changing hotel for at least 3 times during my trip there. Now looking at my almost full 26" luggage after I am almost done with my packing, I am starting to wonder what a stupid idea that is... Haha... I can't believe I actually think I can squeeze all those stuff in a pathetically small 22" luggage... Hee...

Anyway, I will be away from Singapore to Shanghai from 1st September and will be back only on 12th September. I should still be contactable via my mobile phone and gmail if anyone misses me... Haha... :D

Comex 2008

I went to Comex this afternoon with my bf... As usual, this kind of show is full of people. Really mountain people mountain sea... I find it so tiring to squeeze amongst the crowd just to look for the things you want...

My bf bought a laptop and I actually saw something that I like there too! EeePC 901! So chio and light and it's white! Hmmm... They have it in black too but I like the white one... Too bad they are sold out of the white one if not I might have came home with one today. :P

Screw up

Sometimes I think I am screwing up my own life. The problem is I have no idea why am I doing things that way... Everything is going well but somehow I will just end up doing something that may post a very big risk and destroy everything that I have. I think I am screwed up...

Primary School Class Gathering...

Hee... I just had a mini Primary Class gathering of 4 people yesterday. One of them smsed us sometime a few weeks ago and asked if we will be free to meet up yesterday for dinner and some drinks. We ended up having dinner in a Japanese restaurant inside Liang Court which serves quite good ramen and having drinks at Coffee Club in Clark Quay.

It has been quite sometime since we seen some of them because occasionally even if we do meet up, we tend to forget to call a couple of them. :P I called one of them up only on Thursday because I almost forgot about asking her along! :P Luckily she was free last night to meet up with us. Hee...

All of us still look pretty much the same. Just some lost weight and others like me, put on weight :( Other than that, you can still pretty much recognise them as those kids whom you attended school with 14 years ago...

There haven't been much changes with the most of us. All are working, one just got married. She wanted to invite us to her wedding dinner but she only had my old hp number which I had terminated many years ago. So she couldn't invite anyone of us along since I am the only one she kept in contact with all these while. This is the reason why I hate to change hp number. Luckily there's number portability now. Unlike many years ago...

A lot of memories were stirred up during the gathering. Memories of what happened in the class, of the school song, of the school compound, of what we used to do after school, of who used to like who and etc... I guess Life is still the best when we are young... I do still miss those good old days... It was really fun then...

I look forward to when the next gathering comes. Till then... :)

Night of Fun and Camwhoring...

I just got back from my Company's function aka dnd. It was very fun. Most of my colleagues were dressed up in costumes of different nationalities. There were a mixture of Chinese, Malays, Indians, Dutch, Vietnamese, Red Indians, Thai and even Egyptians!

Since we paid $50 for the costumes rental and were all dressed up, we pretty much spent the rest of the night camwhoring... I think this is probably the first time I camwhored so much.

The food was nothing facinating. Just usually buffet foodfare that I did not even bother getting a second helping. Some of the games were quite fun and since we had our function at a corner of Sunset Bay, we were pretty much providing the other diners there a free show to watch.

I got the 21st prize out of 32 prizes. Nothing much lah... Just $200 Robinson vouchers. I received a consolation prize for the Best Dress Award too. Not because I look that great in the Dutch lady outfit but because I was picked randomly and strutted down the "aisle" for the rest to cheer...

I guess I am glad that I did rent a costume even though I was comtemplating whether to do it or not. If not I may not have as much fun as I had today. I guess sometimes you just have to be a little more "on". :)

Company Function

My company is having our yearly function tonight at East Coast Sunset Bay... Damn ulu place lor... Luckily I think my colleague who is staying near me will be picking me up and sending me home after that. Phew~!

The theme for this year's function is International Fiesta. So everyone is required to dress up in some international costume. We got our costumes at Moephosis, the company who designed the costumes for the movie 881 and cost me $50. For once, I am going to act cute and dress up as a Dutch lady... Ha... I hope it will turn up nice even though I know I have no chance of winning the Best Dress Award after seeing some of my other colleague's costumes. But it's just for the fun of it lah...

I hope I will have fun... I should have ba... After all my colleagues are quite on when it comes to having fun.. :)

Olio Dome Holland Village

I had been craving for Olio Dome's Brownie and hot Passionfruit Tea for quite sometime already. I finally get a chance to satisfy my cravings today! :D

I met my bf at Bedok after work and we went all the way down to the Olio Dome in Holland Village for dinner. Actually I am not very particularly fond of Holland Village because I think it is very out of place and it is not exactly a very convenient place to go home from. However, I don't mind going there if someone is willing to send me home after that. Or else most of the time I usually opt for taxis to bring me home from there. It is just too much of a hassle to get home from Holland Village. :P

Anyway, we had our dinner and of course dessert there. We ordered the usual boring Golden Fish and Chips and Teriyaki Pizza for dinner. The Teriyaki pizza was too big for me to finish on my own so I had to rely on my bf's help to finish it. Their Fish and Chips was nicely fried but a bit too dry. Same thing goes for the Calamari that we ordered too. I think their food have the tendency to be too dry after they fried it even though the taste was still quite alright.

I have been craving for their brownie for the longest time so of course it was in my order for dessert. And yes, of course, my hot Passionfruit Tea... We ordered the Olio Style Brownie and I must admit, I was kind of disappointed... Yes, it is nice to have it on a hot plate sizzling with hot fudge (I used to have to specially request the waiter to give me hot fudge for the brownie) and novelty of the vanilla ice-cream sandwiched in between the brownie, but it is no longer the good old Brownie that I used to have many years ago. The taste of the brownie is no longer as good as what it used to be. :( Luckily the hot Passionfruit Tea taste just as good as what I remembered it to be...

Hot Passionfruit Tea saved the day! :D

I doubt I will return to Olio Dome for their brownies again... At least not in a long long time... :(

My day...

My MD let us off work at 3.30pm today because it is a public holiday tomorrow! I still have my replacement holiday for National Day tomorrow! :D I went off only at around 4 since I had some work to finish. Actually I didn't plan to leave early because I had to wait for my experiment to finish but my manager decided to help me continue with the experiment at his house so that I can leave early. Hee...

I took a bus to Harborfront and checked out the tailors there as I was thinking of tailoring a jacket that I will need when I go to Shanghai. It will cost me $210 which I decided is a tad too expensive since I will most probably be wearing only once or twice. So after that I went over to Vivocity to look for some off the rack jackets. Too bad I did not manage to find one that I like. Luckily I still have 3 weeks to find a satisfactory one... :P I popped by Samsung but did not see the white color Omnia that they are supposed to have... Too bad... Anyway I don't think it will make a difference to me whether it is white or black backing... :P

After shopping around for a while, I went down to Bedok to meet my bf since I was still early... We went down to Holland Village for dinner... Hee... This post is getting too lengthy... I'll post about tonight's dinner later... :P

Bang...!

One of my colleague, J, just got her new car yesterday so she decided to drive us out to ABC market for lunch today when A suggested lunching out. I was hesitating on whether to go out for lunch since I was rather busy at work and I didn't want to return from lunch too late. In the end, I decided to ignore her and agreed to go out for lunch with them since I thought that I do need a break from work.

On our way back to office after lunch, J's new car met with a small accident. She was trying to filter to the right lane to do a U-turn later when she hit the bumper of the car in front of her. My other colleagues in the car was saying it was because the car in front was too slow but I felt that it was J's fault since she was keeping too close to the car in front and she sort of did not really pay attention to the car in front of her while she was trying to filter out. She was lucky that she hit the car's rubber bumper so there was not much damages to both the cars and the other party decided to let it go. J will just need to go touch up a little on her car's paint works. Heng for her...

Shanghai Trip...

Hee... I am kinda looking forward to my Shanghai trip. Partly because it is the first time I am travelling to China, second reason is because I will be extending my trip and lastly because I will be travelling alone... At least for most part! :D

I had already told my boss that I will be taking the following week off because I want to explore China... :P So technically I will be there for work on 2 Sept to 6 Sept but I will be coming back to Singapore only on 12th Sept.

I already have plans on 6 and 7 Sept as I will be going to Hangzhou with a friend who is working in China. The problem is what am I going to do after 7th Sept? I am kinda stuck in my planning for the trip because I do not know if there is anytime for me to explore Shanghai from 2nd Sept to 5th Sept. If there is time for me to explore Shanghai during that time, there is no point for me to spend so many days in Shanghai anymore. If I am to go visit other parts of China, where can I go?

So now I need to think carefully what to do in China... If not I maybe stranded without a place to stay... :( Plan... plan... plan...

Does Time Really Flies?

I always feel that time flies... Things that seem to have just happened actually happened so long ago... At least most of the time it seems to me that time really flies...

I was thinking about something that seemed to happen very long ago and yet when I think back, it only happened 1 month ago...

I wonder how long will it take before I can forget... Perhaps it will be etch in my memory forever... Is it good or bad? I really have no idea...

Memories

I saw him at a funneral wake that I attended yesterday... My first boyfriend. He was quite surprised to see me there. 9 years had passed since we last saw each other... It was awkward to see him again after so many years. So... weird... I didn't know what to say to him. Most of the time I just kept quiet even though I wanted to talk to him. But I know even if I wanted to, I also have no idea what to talk to him about.

Some of the old memories that I had with him came back. They are kind of vague now after all it has been so many years... Especially when I am someone with very lousy memory... Sometimes it makes me wonder how did 2 person who are so different end up together so many years ago? Maybe it was because I was very young then and didn't really think so far... Whatever it is, all those are just part of my memories now... Memories that formed part of my life many many years ago...
