Hi India~!

I got into Mumbai last night at around 11pm. My first impression of India is that it is not as bad as what I had thought.

Security at the hotel is much stricter than in Singapore. They actually check all the cars that come in, even the bottom of the car. Visitors of the hotel have to go through a metal detector like those that you find in the airport.

I stayed over at Le Royal Meridien, Mumbai for the night. It is quite a nice hotel. A little different from what I used to stay in the other previous hotels in China, but still nice. The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. Most importantly, they bother to remember your name. Sometimes I feel that it is the little things that matter.

I flew into Pune in the morning flight today. I got to the hotel pretty quickly. I met my colleagues for lunch before heading to the office. Food was honestly good. I have always think that I will probably starve to death overy here. Now, I think I can safely say "No I think I may actually enjoy the food here."

Ok time for me to go to bed. Pictures to follow up soon... :D

星仔(香港)臭豆腐

I went to 星仔(香港)臭豆腐 for dinner over the weekend. It has been quite some time since I last went there. I was never fascinated with 臭豆腐 at all so naturally I won't purposely go there for dinner unless someone proposed to.

I still remember 星仔(香港)臭豆腐 has the smelliest 臭豆腐 I had ever smell before in Singapore. Not that there's a lot of places selling 臭豆腐 in Singapore. The only other place that I know is 蓬莱阁. So it's not a very fair comparison also. :P

Anyway, since I was already there, I decided to try the 臭豆腐 again to see if it is really as yummy as what everyone says... Or if it is still as yucky as I remembered it to be...

The 臭豆腐 does not smell as bad as what I remembered it to be. The taste was ok, still acceptable. The only thing is that I find it quite expensive. I vaguely remember that it cost $2 for a piece of 臭豆腐. That's quite expensive for such a small piece of toufu...

The food there is not bad but I will think twice about visiting this place again because of the price... :P

Job Interview?

I am thinking whether I should go and apply for other jobs. Haha... The job market has been picking up and there are some jobs that I am kind of interested in. Maybe it's time for me to do something about staying inside my comfort zone...

India

Damn! I am asked to go to Pune, India. For what purpose? I honestly have no idea at all. I HOPE it won't be as bad as I thought... I am already cursing and swearing at the flight timing now because Singapore does not have any direct flight to Pune. So I will be required to do a transit. The transit timing is ridiculous. I have to wait for at least 6 hours before my next flight. In the end, I decided to fly in on Sunday evening and stay overnight at Mumbai so that I can catch the morning flight to Pune. The only problem is I will arrive in Mumbai only at 11pm. Not a very favorable timing if you ask me. :S For my return flight, I decide to just wait for my next flight at the airport. I wonder how am I going to spend that 6 hours... If only Mumbai airport is as nice as Changi airport. Sigh...

Wake Up!

It's time to wake up from my dreams and face the reality. 2 years have been long enough. Time to move on...

ShenZhen & HK trip 2010

I reached ShenZhen on 22 May. I was there on a Sat even though I only need to be there for work on Monday. Since I had not been to ShenZhen before and I have a friend who will be there at the same time, I decided to fly in on Saturday. :P It is to be a short break for me also I guess...

I got in only on Sat evening. I checked into the hotel then walk down to the 东门步行街 to hunt for some dinner. ShenZhen's 东门步行街 reminds me a little of Shenyang... The following day, I met up with my friend and her husband for breakfast then went down to the wholesale center at 东门步行街. It was a whole new experience to me. Very interesting experience indeed...

深圳东门步行街

I started 'work' on Monday. There was really nothing much for me to do for work. :P I went down to the exhibition hall with the marketing girl to settle some stuff for the tradeshow. After that it was R&R liao. lol... We went shopping, followed by dinner then back to the hotel. I LOVE my hotel room. It was really nice. I can even watch the tv while inside the bathtub. :P It has a view of 世界之窗. It is just too bad that I couldn't find time to visit it. :(

The very nice hotel room!

世界之窗

I went over to HK on Friday. Almost got withdrawal symptoms from the change of hotel. lol... I stayed in a budget hotel when I was in HK. So imagine moving from Westin ShenZhen to a budget hotel in HK? It's like falling into hell from heaven. lol... Since I figured that I won't be staying in my hotel room much, I decided to save some money and stay in a budget hotel. The room was ok but it has a great location. The only downside of this budget hotel is that I have to lug my luggage up a flight of stairs before I have access to the escalator. I am glad I can still managed my slightly less than 20kg luggage. lol...

Super small hotel room in HK

This was the first time that I went to HK. HK is a very vibrant city. I we We did not do anything much other than shopping. Weather was bad too as it was raining when I wanted to go Avenue of Stars. :( I think I will be back to HK again one of the days... :)
