Gossip Travels Fast...

Gossip travels fast... As in real fast... I did not tell anyone in the other office about me applying for the position of Marketing Coordinator. I did not tell them as I am not sure if I will get the position so there's just simply no need for me to tell anyone about something that even I, am uncertain about. However, I was kind of surprised when one of my colleague from the other office, W, came over and told me that he heard that I got that post. I was like shocked and speechless when he told me that.

For one, I did not get the job. Neither do I know if I will get the job. I had just submitted my resume to my HR a few days ago and I am not even sure if I will get short listed or get oust without even getting a chance to go for the interview at all. For two, I did not tell anyone from that lab that I actually applied for that position. In fact, in the whole office, other than my colleagues who are working directly with me, my HR and my technical director, I did not tell anyone else as like I say, I do not see the need to do so. Unless someone ask me about it...

And ya... Someone asked me if I applied for that position and I told her yes. In fact, two person S and Y, asked me about it. I don't want to lie to them as I feel that if I said no and they found out the truth later, they won't like it. At least if it happens to me, I won't like it that way.

So when W told me that there's rumors saying that I will be going over to the other department, I narrowed down my suspicion to these two colleagues. I know my colleagues who are working directly with me, my HR and my technical director will not tell anyone about it so I did not even hesitate to consider them.

I probed W further to see who was the one who spread this rumor. I clarified with him that I DID NOT get that position and neither am I sure if I will get it. I told him to ask the people there to stop spreading untrue rumors or it may get very ugly. W refused to tell me who was the one who spread the rumor so I asked my other colleague J, to help me find out since she is much closer to the colleagues in the other office than I am.

J told me today that she knew who was the one who started spreading the rumor. It came from someone whom I totally did not suspect at all, SY. I later heard from J that it seems that SY was talking to S the other day when she came over and we suspected that was how the gossip or rumor started. I was kind of surprised as SY does not look like the kind who will gossip and spread untrue rumors and all. I guess looks really can be deceiving... The funny thing is that the rumors started spreading just because I went down to speak to my technical director about another shit he involved me in. From there, they started spreading that rumor... I was totally -_-''' Win liao...
